Probably the worst film I’ve ever seen

A film that was underrated by critics in 1974. A cinema that needs to be re-evaluated

Interesting to see George C Scott's work as a director. I like castaway/desert island stories in general, and this one impressed in particular for the originality of its premise and for its speculation on how things might play out given the psychological dispositions and environmental factors involved.

They really should had fixed that boat..

We can thank George C Scott for helping to usher in the sick world we live in today.
This is one of the worst pieces of garbage made in the 70s.
So many good ways this could have ended - and they chose this . . . gross.

Truly, the WORST movie I ever saw. Saw it for FREE at a preview screening. My buddies & I walked out about a VERY painful 3/4 of the way through, shouting- "WE WANT OUR NOTHING BACK!!!!"

Terrible story end.

Scott is simply a poor guy, who lost it all, thanks to his unfaithful wife.
He must even watch how his wife takes their son as her new lover, while he can get lost.


Scott could have killed him in that last scene easily.
Scotts wife, his mother I do not understand at all.
It is she who stares Scott in his eyes so that he does not use his weapon and get rid of David.
David is evil and yes, he is their son, but he is simply an egoistic and dangerous person.

Finally, looking at the social behavior of David he is more dangerous than an animal, one can only hope that David never gets into society any time.
