I really like this song.

When i was pregnant of my oldest son. I really loved this song sooo much. I didnt know why but i feeled so happy to dance on this song and it made me feel so goood. Little did i know my son would look Just like him i find that sooooooo funny my son Just looks exactly like the singer and everytime i listen to this song it reminds me of how i enjoyed this song in my prenancy.

I was good for dancing this rhythm, and can still dance it at my 77 years. I rememeber it caught as a fad in 1961 and continued in 1962, but in 1963 the Bossa Nova took its place.

Chubby Checker’s hit version of Hank Ballard and the Midnighters The Twist hit number one twice. The first time out The Twist hit number one for one week on September 19,1960 finally ending Elvis Presley’s five week run at the top with It’s Now Or Never. Then the following week Chubby Checker was dethroned by Connie Francis with My Heart Has A Mind Of Its Own. The second time the Twist returned to the top spot for two weeks on January 13-20,1962 ending The Tokens’ three week run at the top with The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Then afterwards Twist dancing wasn’t done yet. Chubby Checker’s two week run ended when Joey Dee and the Starlighters replaced him at the top with The Peppermint Twist.

I just saw Chubby Checker in concert yesterday. He is an entertainer to the max. Including his audience in singing, dancing and walking through the audience, and what turned out to be the blast of my summer...dancing with him on stage doing the twist! 💃
