But if the goal is to increase NAD, niacin plus exercise seems to be as effective and is very cheap and been used for a long time. There are places that have NAD injections but I wouldn’t do that. It’s interesting though.

Is this the study funded by David Sinclair's company? 9 participants? Be careful and just skip to when someone offers you a discount code then you know not to waste your money. Wait for real data or look at 12+ studies that show there is little to no (Zero) benefit. I have some sitting on my counter but will not take anymore because the evidence points to no significant benefits. I want and would like for this to work but oh well. Now NAC and Glycine and or Taurine you can see the studies.

After 3 weeks on NMN I could not sleep. I had to get off it and I started sleeping again. I’m 61 and work out 4 times a week. My diet is carnivore. I’m guessing I get all the vitamins and minerals I need . The supplement just didn’t work for me.

the study has very little value. It can conclude absolutely nothing since its n=36. Its the type of study that can only suggest we need MORE research with thousands of participants.

🤔…..I want to see some more comprehensive studies on humans. Studies with larger groups, double blind/placebo….AND I also would like to know what happens to individuals who take NMN for a long period of time (say for example, like 1 year, or 2 years) and then they completely stop taking it.

In other words, is there a cumulative benefit of taking MNM that remains and/or declines slowly? Or would studies find that the body quickly returns to pre-supplementation of NMN?

I think that supplementation by older adults of creatine is a good example of what I’m asking here. Creatine has been shown to be very beneficial - particularly for older adults who are very active, I.e., resistance training, and high intensity training. Gains in muscle size/strength, and bone density have been confirmed in studies. However, once the individual stops taking creatine, the body returns rather quickly to pre-supplementation condition.

I’ve been getting off meds and even felt tired just walking. It’s been HELL. I just started taking NMN+ and I actually had energy to walk my dogs today and feel like I can run a mile! I’m not sure how long this will last but I’m taking advantage of it. I got a months worth and will keep taking it. Even if it only works today just having the energy is a godsend. And want to be clear it’s not a jittery kinda energy like coffee or any drug. It’s a very calm energy where I can sleep if I really wanted to or go out and not be dragging. It’s very nice to feel energetic again.

thing i have heard is cheaper niacin is likely to have the same effect as this is what the liver breaks NMN down to any way, is that possible. you speak of improved blood levels of NAD, is the blood where it benefits us, or does it need to get into the muscles and other cells, if so, do we have evidence of that? This is not to say it doesnt work, just there are still unanswered questions. I guess what I am saying is something like it getting into your blood could well be a strawman argument, yes it does, but that doesnt mean they are beneficial, which is the surly actual argument

Great interview! I do wish we could get more info on using MB with retinoids. I know she talked about how they have “opposite” mechanisms of action and their website recommends using retinoids elsewhere on the body. But….I guess I have FOMO. 🤣 I don’t want to miss out, apparently. LOL I’m just not willing to give up my tretinoin for something so novel. I would, however, be interested in finding a way to incorporate them both. I thought perhaps opposite times of day but I’m getting the impression that’s not advised. Bummer!

NMN is overpriced garbage. Just get niacin and use the money you save to get other longevity molecules. NMN is the least effective way to increase NAD levels/reverse aging.

I have been using the withings body cardio scales for many years.

Whenever I start taking 500mg again consistently, my ‘vascular age’ readings plummet below the recommended ‘optimal zone’ for my age.. saying I’m 5+ years younger.. it always freaks me out a bit, like somethings going wrong in my body.

In the summertime when I’m ice bathing at zero degrees Celsius for 10 mins, it’s even more pronounced.

Can someone please tell me the difference between taking NMN and niacin (nicotinic acid, the type that gives the niacin flush)? As far as I can tell, they both do almost exactly the same thing, with niacin well-established as a potent NAD activator, especially in muscle tissue. Niacin also boasts many cardiovascular health benefits, including lowering LDL while increasing HDL. In fact, high-dose niacin is used as a prescription med for exactly this. Yet niacin is a fraction of the price of NMN. And I mean a FRACTION. It's so cheap and easily purchased. So what's the difference? I assume this is all marketing hype for supplement and pharma companies to make a lot of money from NMN, since they cannot do the same with ultra-inexpensive niacin.
