You are excellent...in your painting and in your instruction! Thank you soooo very much! I am looking forward to following your lesson plan. I am not new to painting...in my mid 70s now but have been painting, crafting, and all sorts of creative things since my early school days. Guess that would make me a very experienced novice! 👍🏻
Appreciate the way you bring all the info down to essentials...lovely!!! Thanks again! Gonna see what else you have for us....❤❤❤
I love the quality of your voice. Very easy listening. Great info for me as a beginner
Ответитьi love your vids so different
ОтветитьVery clear and helpful, thank you!!
ОтветитьInforming people to put the lightest values on first is probably one of the most helpful advice I've gotten from a watercolor tutorial. Great video!
ОтветитьYou are generous and thoughtful to give so much valuable information in just nine minutes.. will watch it again and again. The glimpses of some of your paintings is something to look forward too. Thank you very much
ОтветитьThank you thank youu for this video. I won’t elaborate because I have to finish 15 watercolor paintings haha. But going back to basics is a vital part of learning ❤
ОтветитьOne of the best tutorials❤
ОтветитьThanks I
That’s really useful for my school project
i feel lighter after watching this, how is it so good.
ОтветитьLoved your works !
ОтветитьThanks, bob ross bless you
ОтветитьThank you so much!
Ответитьthanks man, very helpful
ОтветитьHi Matthew, what's your opinion on M. Graham?
ОтветитьI really enjoyed your video but I feel like the entire world sees water color one way and I want to go a different way and I can't even find the paint I need to start . I want to paint stylized 70's kitchens and rec rooms that look realistic but still like a water color. I want 70's earth tone colors (or my stylized vision of them) like yellow ocher and raw umber I don't need any blues at all unless it is a view through a window or cobalt blue glass and I want to use a lot of sharp clean edges.
When I look for a starter paint set I find 80% of the colors are ones I will never use and the strong colors are only in high quality (expensive sets) and if I just buy the colors I want in high quality paints I can get what I want but I break my budget I want to find a under $35 strong earth tone with zink white and lamp black set of 12-16 colors. and I'm finding nothing even close. Any advice ?
Thank you so much for all the information 🤗♥️
ОтветитьThank you! I agree with almost everything you said! Great info for everyone!!
Ответить"Learn watercolor in nine minutes"... Riiight.
ОтветитьI m from Indonesia, thank you Matthew for your easycatching tutorial you have given
ОтветитьI personally prefer non 100% cotton paper and not all paint react the same on the same sort of paper so you really needs to experiment and find out which watercolor paint works best with which color paper.
ОтветитьHi Matthiew. Thank you so much for sharring your skills and technics of watercolor. You are amazing! God bless you
ОтветитьThis my friend was bloody awesome. Thank you!
Ответитьim glad i saw this before i started. this tutorial a game changer
ОтветитьFirst time viewer, new subscriber...what a wonderful video Matthew. I am so new to watercolor that I haven't done it yet! :) I'm at that exciting (for me, at least), research stage to learn as much as I can about all of the supplies before making my first investment. Your video has come near the end of that process and perfectly so. Brought this volume of new information down to essentials, and with it a sense of calm and "I can do this!"
ОтветитьLove that Matt. Thanks a bunch. Straight to the point simple points.
ОтветитьUnbelievably helpful! I am so excited to have stumbled to your site. You are an exceptional instructor! 🙌
ОтветитьWhen I started to paint in Water color I mostly focused on the COLOR I wanted to use, also in what combination. I really appreciate your 3-way approach, it really makes sense to me.But is it actually wrong to be focusing on the COLOR as well? Thank you for a answer, Matthew
Ответить"The light that you need to leave behind" ❤
ОтветитьI've been tutoring aspirant watercolours is for many year and I can assure you that it's not as simple as this. To say one can start painting today is true but disingenuous. No-one can use this tutorial in isolation and suddenly be able to paint with any degree of success.
ОтветитьYou rock!
ОтветитьGreat tutorial! Thank you for sharing. All the best to you.
ОтветитьNice painting ❤❤
ОтветитьSuper tutorial, thank you very much! My mother was a professional artist for 70+ years and mastered every medium she tried from oils to clay sculpture, to sketching to watercolors. Here I am retired and in my early 60s and I’m gonna start painting too.
ОтветитьYou explained everything so well I such a short time! Thank you so much!
ОтветитьI love the painting on the cover of this video with the sheep and cows in the field with the background mountains. Is there a tutorial of this painting? Thank you for all of your helpful tips!
ОтветитьGreat information
ОтветитьWonderful! Thank you. Music was fantastic, by the way.
ОтветитьThe video does not look free. I think I have to give my email address to get the video. Anyways, I think you are a great teacher (based on this video i just watched) and i will look into your classes. You inspired me to dive deeper in the watercolor world. Thanks.
ОтветитьOne good thing (the only good thing, in fact) when you're nearsighted, is that you just have to remove your glasses to be able to better see values 😂
ОтветитьGreat Sir
Ответитьtechnilly you know what you are saying, but in my opinion you have a mouth who is too big to tell others how they have to paint . No offence. Watercolor is far more than a technilly correct paint. Thanks you for the advice. Start to paint ART!!!! not technical superb things that you have learn. Have a GOOD look how for exemple J. Zbukvic is building up his paintings. Some people see the difference, others never do
ОтветитьThank you for this video!
ОтветитьSalute to you .I am mesmerized by your craft and mastery over watercolor , they are great . The way you teach is amazing . so crystal clear .I am an illustrator of children books and comics but as a hobby when I want to create something for myself ,the artist in me goes for watercolor . .I was looking for the exact kind of drafting table that you have ,I need it for illustration drawings .Please let me know where to buy this from .I really like the vintage look of it .
ОтветитьWell that sucks, the video is only 8 minute and 38 seconds......
ОтветитьThank you Matthew, it's really helpful 🙏
ОтветитьI can't remember who said this but I'll share it here:
"It's better to buy cheaper watercolor and quality paper rather than quality watercolor and cheap paper"
Additional info: when looking for 100% cotton paper look for 300 gsm watercolor paper (gsm means grams per square meter)
I started with the "learn as I do, improve with "formal" education, critique, and tutorials. This video has been the most helpful so far!
