Is Zen 3 Really Worth it For Gaming? 5600X vs. 3600 vs. 10400F

I like to game at 4k 60fps, so my 3600 is plenty for what I need.

I have the ryzen 5 3600 paired with a rtx 3070. I am gaming at 1080p trying to hit as much FPS as possible since im using a 240hz monitor...Is a ryzen 5 5600x a good choice ? Is the performance gain worth it ? Ty

theres always a thing i call new market vs old market. new buyers always tend to buy the newer stuff for the illusion of being save for the future (updates, that almsot always never come). most consumers are in the new market only anyways, for whatever reasons. example: i have an 3400g and want to upgrade. what cpu to chose with the least problems following. its either, buying a MINOR upgrade or get the risk of probs while updating or invest in a new market, means a whole new backbone of a pc, case mainboard cpu ram cooler powerunit.

A 5600X would make for a mighty fine upgrade over my 2600X. Particularly when I finally get into VR.

Thanks, in one of your previous video I got confirmation that upgrading from rx5600xt to rx6600xt wasn’t really useful, and the 6700xt or 6800xt would be much more relevant upgrade.
And now in this video, I got confirmation that upgrading from R5 3600 to R5 5600 isn’t really worth it either, so the CPU budget can be combined into the GPU budget instead

That i5 seems still relevant when the price is right.

The Ryzen 3600 was and still is the best cpu I've ever bought for the price to performance ratio.

I upgraded from 5600X to 5900X for like $35 more.

It looks like I can upgrade 13 series of Intel is about to change to a new mobo at 14 series.
7000 cpu series recently launched but over priced. And the mobo makers over engineered stuck on extra metal threw on a cover over the chipsst and boom! 2-3x the price.

Looks like back to the waiting game.
As its coming up to mid december, might just wait to see what mid new year sales are and what happens in the market, as i suspect next year dry spell of spending, traditional after New years, is harder than usual. Thus the deals better than ever to entice consumers to spend.

5600x is totally worth getting over the previous generations. The 7000 series and ddr5 should be skipped totally and the 8600x / ddr5 combo will be worth getting in late 2024 / early 2025

Just picked up a Ryzen 5 5600 today for 129 Euro... going to be a nice upgrade from my i5 6500, got the Rog Strix B450 Gaming 2 to go with it... pairing this with a GTX 1660 Super that i picked up on release day a few years back for 249 Euro.

Awesome, as of April 2023 - Ryzen 5600 for $199 AUD new. No other CPU is required if all that you do is gaming. Tied with a B550 board for less than $200 AUD new you are set.

Two years later and I'm still rocking on with my Ryzen 5 3600 and 1080ti 🙌

Now in 2023 there are some CPU intensive games arrived. Hogwarts Legacy, Star Wars Jedi Survivor and Resident Evil 4 Remake.

So could you please redo this test with maybe a Ryzen 3600 vs. 5600 vs. 7600 vs. Intel 13600 to see if CPU requirements did raise in the last 2 years?!
Also a test with Cyberpunks 2077 path tracing and a mighty RTX 4090 could be interesting, although the used RX 6800 in this test is more modern than other cards (RTX 4060) due to it's VRAM.

So, four years later, I'm considering a CPU upgrade for my 3700x with the RX 6800. Would I be correct in assuming that going with a 5700x3D would not give me any more frames than going with an 5950x/5900XT/5900x would, as I'd still be entirely GPU bound by any of those GPUs, even with newer games being slightly more CPU intensive? 😊❤
