Sony Vegas, does it work for Resolve too?

When i try and drop the transition into the clip it does not load into the clip. It shows a plus symbol but does nothing. Any ideas?

Hi need help...
 when I try to drag the dissolveluma fx in the clip it's cutting the clip not like in the video  the fx is blending with clip. I even tried pressing ctrl+shift but still cutting the clip.
