ОтветитьThe waterfall effect needs a modern name that our tech generation can grasp. I propose "the guitar hero effect".
ОтветитьIt took a few minutes of practice for me to see the dancer go anti-clockwise by just focusing on the lowest foot. For a moment it stopped spinning and was just moving left and right. Clockwise still looks far more natural though.
ОтветитьYou actually did blow my mind but I lived so I'm suing for pain and suffering and mental and emotional damage LOL
ОтветитьWow
ОтветитьYou are wrong. I only looked at the dancers foot . She was going counter clockwise until you said something. Then I blinked and she switched, I never looked at her hand.
ОтветитьI had an odd fixation with optical illusions when I was in my young teens and I remember sharing at a gif of the Spinning Dancer on Wikipedia for a long time trying to understand the illusion. When I finally got it to flip directions, I was stunned.
ОтветитьInteresting, thank you!
ОтветитьThe dancer started one way and then changed direction. I knew this would freak out my eyes and give me a headache! :-)
ОтветитьI call them optical conclusions, instead of illusions, because you see what you wanted to see. LOL
ОтветитьAh, the motion aftereffect. The thing that happens when I play Guitar Hero for too long.
ОтветитьI miss it, I fell asleep. 😲
ОтветитьI managed to switch between the dancers! Science! Thanks Hank^^ T-Hank
ОтветитьWhat about that gold/,blue dress
ОтветитьDogs: yes yes you are. Can you move faster.
Ответитьhow manny colors ru seeing on the screen right now awnser 3 this happens becuse pixeles are the same size of rods and cones so youre brain thinks that there the same color
ОтветитьHey Hank & SciShow,
Which of these playlists is this video on?
After the hug comment. There are no illusions
ОтветитьFor the dancer, it was tough, but I managed to make it change bu will.
ОтветитьI've had the experience of seeing one of these illusions one way, then when finally seeing it the other way, I could no longer see it the first way...
ОтветитьThis will give so many people ‘hope’
ОтветитьBeautiful video recommendation
ОтветитьSo information is HIGHLY dependent on our perceptions because we aren’t conscious enough or do not have enough attention to examine the environment efficiently. So it relies on memory to put the puzzle pieces together rather than taking the time to analyze it. Very interesting.
ОтветитьI don’t see the sailboat
ОтветитьI was just taught Genjutsu
ОтветитьOn a hot day I can see water mirages on the road because the road is hotter than the air.
ОтветитьBy the time you got to the tables my eyes felt like I had been staring at the sun or I was Snowblind! When you came back from the spinning one you looked pink. I can get the dancer on both feet pretty quickly and going the other way.
ОтветитьThe Flying Dutchman isn't the most famous maritime mirage.
The Titanic hitting an iceberg is, although not all know this was the cause.
The sudden channel of extremely cold air/water trapped beneath warm air caused horizon refraction(mirage) hiding a large iceberg which would normally be seen from 30 minutes away against a very clear star lit night to only being seen 30 seconds before impact.
The same optical illusion(refraction) is believed to be the reason the California never went to aid the Titanic even though crew testimony from the California said the ship they saw wasn't the largest ship in the world, or they couldn't see the steam stacks of an ocean liner but a much smaller vessel, when infact it was the titanic.
Anyone else so bored in quarantine they're listening to videos about illusions?
ОтветитьAlmost always Hank Green talk too fast. it's hard for non-native to understand. I read somewhere that Average speed in talking is much better for all audiences.
Ответитьstares intensely at bottom left of Hanks' neck
MOLE! MOLE! MOLE-Y, MOLE-Y, MOLE-Y, MOLE-Y MOLE!
ITS A BLOODY MOLE!
.....MMMMMMMOLE!
A BILLION MILLION MOLECULES WITHIN HUNDREDS OF TRILLION TRILLION BILLION MOLECULES ECT AMEN.
ОтветитьYa look wide in the hip hank pinched under your shoulder spine to navel. Illusion?
ОтветитьYou talk and edit too much, just show the stuff we came to see.
ОтветитьThe dress is another optical illusion.
Ответитьthere must be something wrong with me because i can see any of those things hes talking about except the moving picture thing.
Ответитьthe shepard's tables in this example are NOT exactly the same table top. you can prove it by going into M$paint and moving the 2nd top to where the 1st is - lining up the vertical parallel lines at the top of the tables. they are now NOT lined up at the bottom
ОтветитьI saw the dancer rotating anticlockwise for the 1st few rotations, changing to clockwise when her outstretched leg was to the right.
Ответить#4..nooooo
ОтветитьThe real challenge is seeing the top of the dancer spinning clockwise and the bottom counter clockwise
ОтветитьI'm still wait for the 8 mind blowing illusions.
Ответитьi think almost everyone can switch between the two if the yswitch from looking at her hand to her leg
ОтветитьSo what happens if I can make the grid jump forward to look as if there’s a room behindbthem?
Ответить
