I think legos declining quality is due to the fans asking for more and more from them and don’t get me wrong they definitely could’ve done better in some areas but back in 2013 and prior it wasn’t about how good the mini figures looked or how accurate the set was it was about how you had clones and droids and something for either of them to use

Edit: I’m not saying that the fans wanting and asking for a better quality of Legos is a bad thing i’m just saying that the reason why Lego was better back in the day was because Lego didn’t need to include every finite detail. They did it, because they wanted to make their products better and don’t get me wrong. Lego could’ve definitely done better in recent years but I don’t believe Lego is all to blame

Lego and hasbro are very similar to me. Both generate more and more money every year and disappoint even more each year whilst increasing the prices drastically. It’s very sad

I agree, but I changed mine up to have some of those features, and they’re just small adjustments that add a lot to the coruscant gunship

I think that because nothing is in the front of the 2023 Version that something of the upcoming 2024 battlepack will fit in

I'm getting the 2023 gunship just because it's directly in my favorite color, and the added details look slick, like a lot of people here in terms of display I think the 2023 takes the cake, with second place being 2013 and so on (that and I do not feel like spending more then 200-300$ for a 2013 version or a MOC version)

I think the 2023 gunship’s interior was empty so you could place other builds inside like the episode 2 blister pack and the cannon from the 501st battle pack.

They really downgraded the 2023 gunship and for the most money it’s easily the worst set out of the other gunships

Lego should release older popular sets with better design and better piece usage as an anniversary thing

Im really happy with the helmet holes on the coruscant guard, as long as they will release more of them in a smaller set without holes. That way we can use the gunship ones as specialists

Again, I gotta defend the helmet holes. While I agree that the design choice is misplaced and quite ugly in its current placement, I have to say I think they are nessisary in these play sets. I remember being a kid and loving the versatility of being able to promote or specialize my troopers with extra helmet attachments depending on what was needed. Need a sniper specialist who has visor to block out the sun, you can create it due to the helmet holes. Don't have a commander to lead your forces into battle, put an rangefinder on and cut out some paper for a waist cape, bam, ARC trooper. While I understand that from your point of view the helmet holes are evil, I think for kids they are nessisary. At the end of the day, while lego can create beautiful peices for display, these sets are meant to be played with, rearanged, and modified to your creative whims. It's why on the old sets they used to offer alternative builds, to spark your creativity and make you want to build anything you can dream of, and at the end of the day, isn't that what lego is all about?

The new one has the best build. Its stupid as hell to think the 2002 one is even close to better. Just because the new one has stud shooters and only one door doesnt make it the worst gunship. It definitely looks visually the sleekest and has the best building techinques. The older ones just look so blocky.

Ranking is fair, but what if you didn’t have a chance to get the 2013 model and you’ve wanted to get one for a while, do you think it holds up to what it should be, just comparing it to itself?

Lego does not make CMFs for star wars because it's one of their biggest sellers. They don't need to make extra Minifigures because people will buy up everything they make. They know a $600 set will sell even with 1 or 2 so-so figures. We the fans are enabling it.

So what? It was a kid's toy for me as well back in 2008 and 2013: did it serve as an excuse for them to make poor products?
No. They did a good job, they improved stuff as time went on and I've never complained about what I got because I knew it was good. And to see ten years later that not only I was right, but I still am cause the newer products are worse, it hurts

I’m a 2008 gunship fan. The first one, from 2002, has hands down the best minifigs, but 2008 will always be the most fun to play with.

People here arguing about which gunship you chose, meanwhile I’m just looking at each of them with awe because I was never able to get ANY of these gunship models and I really wanted them as a kid.

You cant hate on the newest Padme yes it may be the same face from a 2016 minifigure but from the picture i saw its pretty accurate for the Padme in that animated series. The 2023 gunship isnt as bad as you make it to be. Not all redesigned Star Wars sets are horrible. I know it has none of the features of previous gunships but the 2023 gunship is from an entirely different series.

I luv mixing bad-guys, especially when colors match across trademarks, so Blue Mandelorians are Cobra, but this just Screams CRIMSON GUARD. If Lego hadn't been so crappy with the Advent Calendar Fox & ONLY TWO MORE TROOPS I'd get this, but as is, it's insulting.

Hi, it was not the 2008, but only the 2002 version that was not so sturdy meaning the whole top would come of, they fixed that in the 2008 version already, when you put it together right.

I gotta give it to lego, they did something truly mind blowing with the 2023 gunship and achieved something I thought impossible. They made a gunship that I don’t want to add to my collection at all, not even a smidge. I got every other gunship including the UCS version but will be skipping the new one. Just comes off as a super strange choice for lego and it’s worse looking in my opinion than any of the others. Looks shrunken, stubby and somehow smooshed as a result of the downsize. I was also hoping for an army builder like the AT-TE with maybe 501st or 212th troopers but instead we got Coruscant Guards🤔 I’m glad there are people who are happy with it because it won’t end up sad and depressed on the shelves like the Hulkbuster or the Black Panther bust thing. At least it’ll get some love although not from me. For me this was a massive L for lego. As for the one I think is the best, I think the 2013 looks the best, followed by the 2008 and then 2002. Also bonus points to MandR on the headroom. That detail along with the doors really really irks me on the new one🤷

I know you’re basing the price on retail but if you base it on what the cost of the set is now, the value might change up. A new 2002 set is gonna be 300 plus

Biggest thing is idk when we’ll get a new one. And the color scheme is REAL nice for display on new one…

I wish the 2023 gunship was bigger. I was able to fit 12 clones in it, but it was ridiculously hard to do, even with my small hands. Insanely cramped compared to the previous models :(
