I am already running HASS IO on a Raspberry Pi 4. Do I need another Raspberry Pi Zero with Raspberry OS Lite to integrate SwitchBot Hygrometer with Home Assistant? Need guidance if I got the instructions wrong.

Great product/ idea...unfortunately the bluetooth range from my raspi is dismal. It will not reach the switch further than a room away. Does anyone know of a device like this that will work with zigbee or zwave or even wifi??

I can't get my HA file editor to recognize the second line of the script. I've checked the comments and nobody has brought this up yet?

I am very interested in your switch.yaml...I haven't seen that before.

Is there a reason this wont work? The file editor for yaml says its ok.

Brilliant! First time viewer - subscribed. Thanks Will, I am going to give this a crack. I've had a few Switchbot Meters installed for over a year now, but my BLE Mesh is patchy. I'm guessing that by installing my Rpi Zero as you have set out will fix that?

How do you use a switchbot in an automation? I'm creating it through the UI but actually sending the instructions to the switchbot requires using yaml as it doesn't show up in the 'devices' action type and I can't find the right syntax anywhere.

stupid question - how would one add several switchbots to the yaml? I have 3 call near my HASS server which were out of action due to the AWS outage yesterday - going bluetooth would get around that.

Great video as usual! I am thinking of buying a switchbot bot to integrate in HA and with this you have saved me the Hub. I'm also going to put an esp32 to see the characteristics of a plant with the Mi flora from Xiaomi. And it would be closer than the Pi. Should I put the switch configuration in the esphome? No need to put in configuration.yaml ble tracker :? Thanks in advance
