should you still downshift/brake without clutch on a carbed 2 stroke? no oil during engine braking but I guess they account for that in the maintenance/rebuild intervals

A few weeks ago I learned about using my front brake more often and it makes a big difference. Now my rear tire isn't sliding out as much and i can stop in a much shorter distance. A few times it has literally stopped me from going into a ditch from misjudging a blind turn whereas if I'd have just used my rear brake i would have totally crashed. Another time it has also stopped me from hitting an oncoming vehicle on the trails. I cannot stress enough how important it is to get comfortable with using your front brake whether you stick to the trails like i do or if you ride a track. I haven't thought much about how to effectively use the engine to slow down, though. I'll have to experiment with that a bit!

Thanks for that. Would have been easier to focus on what you're saying without the music. Great video but no music needed

Nothing mentioned about application? Pumping the rear break or just smashing down on it?

I’ve been riding sence I was six but I recently got into racing and I just don’t understand how my rear brake can be faster than just coasting and I just need to understand how it helps

This is wrong. In the set up area you should be applying breaks but not as hard as in the break area as this gives the most traction and allows to enter the corner faster, and then whilst breaking get your leg out and release break simultanously giving appropriate amount of gas
