Sublime!
ОтветитьЗавидую тем, кому выпала удача услышать его в живую
ОтветитьYehudi Menuhin spells artistry, humanity, unbelievable depth of feeling, richly meaningful interpretation, and an uncanny ability to enter the very centre of the spirit of any music, any composer, work or expressive mode. His ravishing and astonishingly diverse soundscape, the impassioned lyric-dramatic vibrato, the controlled trills and subtle shifts of pace, tone, pressure, force and dynamics, the immersed communication to listener, straight from heart to heart - this was a universal violinist, an eternal quality resides in his playing which corresponds to the epochal shifts in his playing manner and mode through the great tides and tectonic shifts of the last century. The debates about who was more 'brilliant' or 'greater'- the young Menuhin, or the sometimes struggling but even more profound and insightful later avatars of the prodigy are facile - best to just close your eyes - or watch him as he closes his and loses himself in the trance of his own music making...

Ответитьeternal!
ОтветитьIs this from ~ 1965 -1970? Both mind/doubt and arthritis were working against him by this time. Menuhin did have so many redeeming qualities though. Fluent in six languages (like Szeryng...and Lavrov, for that matter) and quite an honest citizen of the world. Gee, we sure could use a figure like Menuhin today. I remember an interview in which Menuhin discussed politics and the possibility of holding such an office. He said that he'd never go for more than one term. He was against career politicians. Menuhin, on the other hand, would have been a statesman.
ОтветитьUn moment unique !
ОтветитьBRAVO !
