Ranking the Dark Souls Bosses from Easiest to Hardest [#1-26]

Bosses overall felt so much easier to handle compared to the environmental challenges in Dark Souls.

I don't really understand how people think ornstein and smough is one of the hardest bosses... my first time playing this game, had maybe 5-10hrs in elden ring prior i completely destroyed these guys with sub 3 attempts

that moment you realize Manus can be cheesed by lobbing longbow arrows using the hawk ring and manual aim just outside the boss fog curtain, making him super chill to kill, if you don't mind spending 3-5 minutes turning him into a pincushion

Started my first playthrough recently as a pyromancer, been stuck on the Gargoyles for about a week now. First phase is easy but the second always kills me or I roll off the edge. Any tips?

I don’t know if I just had insanely good luck but I actually beat kalameet on the third try and even enjoyed the fight. Idk maybe I just got crazy good luck with the rng because he never really used his fire moves.

Ornstein and Smough is way harder when u try to get Leo Ring ! Smough has more HP and Orn doesn't lose the grab. And finally, u get a super Ornstein, super fast, super tall. I'm on RTSR shit run and I'm praying for RNG 🙏

I still dont know why people say artorias is difficult but hes intimidating and sick as hell

1 o&s took me 3 days and 10 tries to beat 2 four kings are my least favorite lord soul boss 3 manus beat me in my first try when he was one hit from death 4 sif kept beating my ass 5 i skipped gwyndolin for "reasons" and 6 it took me 3 days and 21 tries before i finally beat artorias

4kings were so easy, i used smough hammer, it took me 30seconds to kill them.

Capra demon is the easiest boss I've ever defeated. Take out the dogs, use your shield, get on his back, attack, repeat till he's dead.

For capra, i used the alluring skull. I got him on my second attempt on my first playthrough, mind you i beat bloodborne 7 times before, so

You know for discharge ypu can run to the gate and one shot him

I love the moonlight butterfly. Such an ethereal fight. And when i figured out it rested and i could hit it for the first time, i was so happy

i beat the smash bros on my first try and manus on two tries but artorias was six tries artorias should be the final boss not manus or gwyn

The first time i played ds1 I didn't upgrade my weapon that much and thought the game was really hard but a few months after i did a play through with upgraded weapons and i breezed through the majority of the game. It's still not the easiest because of the 4 way rolling, playing it after ds3 is hell

Are you joking about Ornstein and Smough being fair ? It's anything but fair. The game system is based on 1v1, add 2 opponents and everything become unplayable. Pretty sure they put the solair invoc to balance it out.

For Centipede demon you have a spot near the entrance with a lot of space. I beat him easily there.

Taurus is way harder than the gaping dragon because of the arena. With the dragon you have so much space to turn around, not with Taurus.

The butterfly stops to sit on the ledge and eat the flowers. If you dont damage her, she heals up during this. The explosion is probably her releasing some energy to get you away. Shes probably just like defending someone breaking into her home. I mean, you'd do the same if someone with a shield, sword, and bow entered your home 🤷‍♂️

Ornstein and Smough are ranked way too damn high imo

As a new souls player who started with dark souls remastered the bosses that I found difficult are (random order): gargoyles, Artorias, the sanctuary guardian, Nito, Kalameet, Siff and the scaleless dragon and bed of chaos, but just because I had to figure out how to kill her and because trying to reach the bridge in the middle was a torture

I remember my first playthrough. The cathedral gargoyles were damn hard. I had to speed run back to the roof so many times. Ofcourse Smough and Ornestein were the hardest for me. It took days of trying. I f-cking hate Capra Demon. He made me the maddest. I think I beat Gwyn on my first try. Managed to beat Smough and Ornestein on second play through and lost interest after that. This game was quite the experience. It was the best game I played in years but damn did it make me angry and frustrated at times. I loved it though. I would check the time and before I knew I played 3 hours haha.

Damn man I killed Omnistein and Smough on fifth try but... I only discovered that there is a sprint in the game from the footage in uour video. Dark Souls is such Dark Souls

I don't understand how people think gaping dragon is easy. It can one shot me at level 40 and takes no damage even against a +5 shortsword. I've still not defeated it.

I almost died to Pinwheel by underestimating him. If he gets some clones down, it becomes a bit less mindless.

Manus ended up getting kinda stuck and i just kept walking around in a circle.

i really didnt think quelaag would be so high on the list. Never died to her, because you autododge all of her blade attacks by just standing directly in front of her and a bit to the right/left (basically at the neck of the actual spider). Only thing you have to worry about is her kamikaze explosion, but just... heal? and then proceed to do the same thing until she perishes

Pinwheel as the easiest boss is ridiculous.

Not only because players usually go there as overlevelled, but even overlevelled there are a lot of people dying from it.

Asylum Demon is much easier and hardly people die from it, even on the first playthrough, and even if they do die, they're still learning the game, of course they're dying from it

Personally I think black dragon kalameet its the hardest

I’m not sure why Ornstein and Smough have such a reputation. I expected to get smacked by them and beat them with ease first try.

pinwheel looks EZ af but would u not say lady butterfly is? i get she does have decent attacks but she literally lets u kill her

Hardest boss in the game: Your patience, because every time you die 10 seconds into the boss fight, you have to spend upwards of a couple minutes tediously hiking from the bonfire to the boss again.

Fun fact, the butterfly actualy feed itself on that plant on the bridge.

I think the 4 kings is the hardest

Hardest for me:
- Dragon slayer and the fat fck (Needed summon, dung pie dragon slayer until toxic and then run around shooting arrows until fat died)
- Anor Londo archers (Countless attempts)
- Capra demon. (The boss in itself is easy but the damn dogs made this fight nearly impossible. I had to look up tips and then take out the dogs on the stairs)
- Queelag (The only boss where I had to learn every move the boss could do, maybe 7 attempts but I got destroyed the first times)
- Sif (I struggled with this one and died many times. I beat him eventually easily with shield + crossbow)
- Not a boss but the knight who killed the fire keeper was damn hard. I had to lure him away from the group and kill him on the stairs

Easiest for me:
- Nito (1 try)
- Seath the scaleless (Maybe 3 tries but when I realized what to do it was really easy)
- Pinwheel (3 tries, easy when I realized he was a glass cannon)
- Butterfly (1 try)
- Double boss on the church roof (1 try with summon help)

- Iron golem (Died a few times because he knocked me over the edge. But cheesed him later on with arrows + dodging under his legs)

Neutral:
- Gwyn (Was quite powerful at that time so I could eat most attacks. Still a few attempts)
- Four kings (Initially thought it was very hard but duel wielding it became quite doable)
