I’ve been on Apple TV and AirPlay since the 3rd Gen 1080p model.

Bought a Samsung qled tv that suddenly installeren Samsung tv app all on its OWN….i turned the smarthhub off and use Apple TV online….a real life improver

The thing I love the most about Apple is they don’t have a “That will do” approach like the rest of the competition including Amazon. Google is meh and so is everything else I’ve ever tried. I was loyal to android for years as iOS was meh. Now Apple have more than caught up.

I’m switching from Fire Cube to Apple TV. Can’t wait for delivery. Fire cube isn’t slow but Alexa is annoying AF

Replaced my 2012 3rd gen Apple TV with the 3rd gen 4K yesterday. I don’t think I need to mention how huge the difference is. I don’t have a smart home but just being able to control volume and turning in the tv with only the Apple TV remote is great.

If they would add safari on it it would be fantastic and a must buy . But they don’t and I don’t get why .

You're missing another important feature: if you have icloud+, supported security cameras get free unlimited storage. So you can cancel your camera's cloud plan (30-60 dollars a year per camera) and replace it with Apple iCloud. Even if Apple TV is 30-60 dollars more expensive than the best Roku box, in one year you've recovered that cost, and in a few years it's paid for itself.

The input lag with Bluetooth controllers on the new Apple TV when playing games is horrendous.

I’m still using the 1st gen 4K AppleTV w/ A10X chip and it still runs identical to the day I got it.

While I agree the Apple TV is far better than a stock tv’s UI, and even better than most other options like Fire Tv Sticks and Rokus it still pales in comparison to a console like Ps5 or Xbox. This isn’t for people with consoles already connected to their Tv

I got Samsung TV 2020 or 21 and Apple TV. I prefer to use Apple TV, but Samsung smart TV is also fine (question for how long yet). But anyway, sure - Apple TV is faster... And if you're iPhone user you don't even need to get used to it, but it's quite expensive taking into a count that it is just speeding up your TV. I don't think it is underrated, it is rated correctly - you basically do not need it to be happy. And yeah, playing advanced games is cool, but in the same time you can buy any laptop, install same app and connect it with hdmi to your TV.

yep love my Apple TV even without ethernet, cheap easy and fluid. cloud never complain ever. I highly recommend this device for anyone.

So since you (the creator) play games on your Apple TV through steam link or otherwise, do you have your tv set to game mode all the time or do you disable game mode when you’re watching movies/tv shows?

I was coming here because my trusty 2018 LG 65C8 is a bit slow with streaming services but damn mine looks like a rocket compared to yours for loading apps. It takes about 10-15 seconds to load a streaming app. But the biggest issue is app stability and responsiveness.

My school recently got rid of all Apple TVs because they didn’t use them. Instead they replaced them for ViewBoards.

The roku 4k is $39.- As much as I would like the apple tv I just can’t justify the price tag. Roku has the screen share stuff too and you can connect your own headphones easily too.

Can the Apple TV be hidden behind the TV or does it need to be line of site to the remote?

The Apple TV should at least have the A14 to make it good for gaming. They should market it as an all-in-one media player instead of a TV box.

I haven't bought one but from what I've seen in the video, if you have an apple ecosystem already, then it really seems like a no brainer to get the apple tv as well. I have a lot of apple products myself and this video is making me consider buying one for my living room tv.

Roku TV OS is by far the best for all TVs. I do have the Apple TV as a secondary device. I say secondary because this is assuming that all people in the household have an apple device. If that’s the case Apple Tv takes the cup however, if that is not the case unfortunately getting just an Apple TV Willsegregate some of the household. And my household my wife has an android phone and I have an iPhone. Roku works the best in this case.

i have a old 3rd gen apple tv and its still technically usable, it can still run netflix and you can use airplay and stream almost anything from your other devices

they upset me with apple tv cause the thing is has so much potential to be a cheap gaming device, and they just don’t support a ton of obvious games that would be great on it, like cod mobile, minecraft(for some reason they removed minecraft) fortnite, pubg? all these controller supported games unavailable, and the tv 4k has plenty of power for 1080p gaming

Remote controls are never an issue for me. I can always buy a programmable remote if I hate the remote device came with.

I love my Apple TV. I have two HomePod minis for left and right audio. When I want to turn my tv on, I just tell Siri to do it. I have no lag with sound and have had no problem connecting different headphones when I want to listen loudly late at night. And if I’m in bed and want to watch tv, but don’t want to get up to get the remote, I always have my iPhone or one of my iPads and can just use those as a remote.

Maybe I just have a good TV but my Samsung Smart TV is as quick as that of opening all streaming services and going between. I could also like cast through my Mac and iPad the same way I don't know.

45 seconds my ass, a new firestick and you're in any app in around 6 seconds. I get that using a roku or apple tv is slightly faster, but 45 seconds? Give me a break, no currently gen smart device is that slow.

my lg oled is as fast as the apple tv 4k and I don't need a separate remote. I can see why you would want this on an older tv or one with a cluttered OS though

I've owned an Nvidia Shield for 7 years and an Apple TV for about 1 year and I find they are equally as good. Really like them both.

If you already have a PS5, still not convinced that having an Apple TV is worth it
