Yeah, definitely not qualified to have given this “class” as you thankfully admit early on.
ОтветитьI actually love TubThumping. That's just Chumbawamba...some of their best stuff has a catchy pop sound. Nothing wrong with that. I love, also, that they sold the rights to the song to whoever would pay for it...and donated the proceeds to anti-corporate political action orgs. Great band.
ОтветитьCrust Punk would probably not exist without Motorhead
ОтветитьImagine being the smelliest punk in a room full of punks.
Thats crust punk.
Kentucky actually had a good scene back in the day . My buddies band Disdain did a split with Disrupt and another great band here was Ungrateful . Check them both out if you can . Plus a bunch of bands played here like Naked Aggression , Hell Nation , Apocalypse Hoboken and a bunch more . My band played with Phobia and Wormrot a grindcore band from Singapore ! Fun night .
ОтветитьThat has got to be the cleanest crustie patch vest I have ever seen ! LOL ! Its all good though , they age with time and wear .
Ответить🏴❤️
ОтветитьPunkrock MBA is shite compared to this channel 👍🏻👌
ОтветитьAnti-Cimex is one of my favorite bands.
ОтветитьFight crass not punk!!
ОтветитьDystopia is defiantly my favorite crust band. I can never see how they're really sludge. Like maybe their first album but the aftermath is just like its own thing
ОтветитьAppreciate the love for the OG Pittsburgh bands! 412 RPRZNT!
ОтветитьDo an aus rotten video please n thank u
ОтветитьIt seems like you know a lot about things that don't really matter a lot. How many genres of "punk" are there? If I'm to believe you, about 50. MINUTIAE.
ОтветитьLazy
ОтветитьDude, you need to get educated. Your grip on the history of punk is shite. Discharge were not influenced by street punk at all. Street punk is an American term that came out in the 90s to loosely describe Oi! and UK82. Discharge were an influence on both Oi! and UK82. It wasn't English bands that went over to Scandinavia in the 80s and influenced crust, it was Scandinavian bands coming over to the UK and influencing us that made a difference; Anti Cimex and Agoni being two.
Napalm Death have never been crust.
The crust 'look' comes from the Bristol scene of the 80s, think Amebix, Chaos UK and Disorder, where dreads/soaped hair, leather utility belts, German combat boots/engineer boots, very patched combat trousers, scruffy cut off tshirts was the standard day wear, which was partly a mixture of anarcho and UK82 but much scruffier . The patches and studs came in the 90s.
There are so many influential bands that you miss out on, that you are offering only a glimpse of how crust came to be. Without Venom, Hellhammer, Sacrilege (perhaps the biggest influence for a lot of the OG crusties), Onslaught, Anti System, Concrete Sox, Slayer, Metallica etc, you wouldn't have crust. Then you miss out at least three of the biggest names that helped form modern crust: Extinction of Mankind, Misery and Hellshock.
His Hero Is Gone were never crust, they were much more. How can you talk about powetbiokence and mot even mention Neanderthal or Man Is The Bastard? Siege were nit the start of PV, they influenced Grind more than PV, they were certainly one of Nic Bullens favourite bands. Night Staljer by Impact Unit was probably ground zero for PV, Indestructible being the prototype powerviolence band and Neanderthat/Man Is The Bastard/No Comment being the beginning of the scene.
Oh, Gism, The Cones and Gauze are all hardware punk bands...not crust.
There is so much more that I could add but I can't be arsed
Extinction Of Mankind - well worth checking out. Great video.
ОтветитьDude that vest is tryhard cringe for real..... Jesus dude.
ОтветитьWhy did'nt you mention Crack rock steady.Or Leftover crack and Choking victim created a fusion of ska and crustpunk-STZA does suck. But your wearing a leftover crack patch and talked about them being at a concert.
ОтветитьCrass is hippie punk!!! Boooo!
ОтветитьI kinda just came into crust and sludge, i have been listening to discharge and napalm death for years though. But I'm watching this because i started in at crust sludge band about 1.5 years ago. Came into it knowing nothing about, started with bass, now I'm the drummer, I really fell in love with hhis genre.
ОтветитьWolfbrigade!
Ответитьyou speak too fast! hard to follow you for a non anglosaxon!!!
ОтветитьWarwound and Disrupt are two ive been getting into
ОтветитьI'm just saying Crust punks had a lot of similar idealogy as Hitler. Both vegterians and both against civilians owning guns and both into the arts and both anti religion both pro abortion both extremely judgemental
ОтветитьEl dopa, ojorojo, saké, all CA 90’s.
ОтветитьSome time falling off the face of the earth is what it takes to keep going
ОтветитьNo buzzoven for the crust/sludge crossover?
ОтветитьTotalitär 🤘
ОтветитьIf you can smell someone before you lay eyes on them, chances are it's a Crust Punk... Or a homeless person. Pretty much the same thing honestly.
ОтветитьNausea! My favorite high school punk t shirt, their vol. 1 album absolutely rips
ОтветитьLove it!! I want to throw out some of my favorites not mentioned...
Axiom, Anti Product, Antischizm, Detestation and Dirt
I recently moved to Minneapolis and there's an incredible punk and metal store here called extreme noise. My girlfriend loves the place so I'm trying to learn about the genre more.
Ответитьi'm from port angeles wa and we had a great crust/pv scene in like 2005-2012 brando is from here and he was in streetwalker, salo, the rubouts,crōn, endorphins lost and i'm missing a bunch but yeah the seattle scene used to be rad
ОтветитьNice job cramming such a gangload of info into 13 min!!! 👏👏👏 Glad to see some of my So Cal homiez bands mada it into the mix... maybe a Pt.2 , 3, or even 4 per region?
Long Beach (and surrounding areas) Punx held it down for decades since the 80's and Crusty bands were ever present.
Crust punk is the most heaviest subgenre of hardcore?
ОтветитьDisaffect !
ОтветитьGreat job on this video, I'll definitely be checking out more of your content. I love blackened crust, so this video was really interesting to learn about the roots of crust. Anyone interested in blackened crust should check out bickle's cab (uk) - forest of grey, bhopal (ita) - age of darkness and Melissa (usa) - demo 1

ОтветитьRIP Sakevi GISM
ОтветитьThe kindest thing the punks have collectively agreed to do is never speak of Discharge's tragically misguided foray into cockrock. We just don't speak of it. They remain eternally cool & influential and that appalling period where they lost the plot and went entirely off-piste as a band, ('sold out and grossed out' to put it bluntly) by dabbling dangerously with hairmetal in all its gory Elnett-scented horror doesn't seem to have put a dent in their legacy. That infamous recording of that live show in San Francisco where the singer's valiantly attempting to carry on with his weird yowling and almost being entirely drowned out by screams of 'F------CK OFF!!' is both tragic and funny at the same time. With hindsight I hope the band members today can laugh about it all because as I said, they've kept their 'subcultural legend' reputation fully intact so no harm done. 👍
ОтветитьSorry... im still gonna pronounce GISM wrong haha
ОтветитьAxegrinder too
ОтветитьThis channel is LEAGUES better than Punk Rock MBA. Great job, this vid gave me some new bands to check out.
ОтветитьHey Bro Hymn! Your eyes tell a complete story. You've Bee going in Oi! Mode ( yea the Wretched Ones) hardcore. Just keep doing you and we'll be here!
