The reason anime fans care so much about this is mainly because shipping and shit is a big part of the community, so when they find out they can’t ship 2 characters because the sexualities don’t work out, they get pissed because (and I repeat) they have nothing better to do than put fictional characters in fictional relationships

I used to love anime when I was younger. But as I grew older, the culture became weirder, the majority of shows are regurgitated cringe, and the most hyped anime are pretty mediocre. Looking at the culture now it's pretty embarrassing.
