This is not surface modeling, this is SubD Modeling. Such modeling is much more convenient and faster to do in programs designed for polygonal modeling (3ds Max, Maya, Blender ....) Check your car models for the smoothness of surfaces with a zebra pattern from lines, this will reveal all the problem areas of the model.
