what ever works for him, but i don't see how he can play with uncapped frames.
1. if he has a 240hz monitor he's still way over.
2. frame pacing is very important, fluctuations can impede performance MASSIVLY.
3. I've noticed screen tearing multiple times.
conclusion: lock your frame rate to your monitors max refresh rate and you'll perform better.
this applies to 98% of players. the reason Shroud doesn't follow this is because he became Pro before any of these features were perfected, he's simply used to playing with out.
but i assure you if you are just getting into Valorant (or any shooter) this simple step with improve your game play. :) (do not turn on V-sync to achieve this)
