I have a 2001 dodge neon with 206 plus thousands miles, good battery and connection, it runs idle for 3 or 4 minutes and turns off, what else could be wrong with it?

no it won't as a mater of fact, you can start the car and unplug the battery, and if, it shuts off you have a bad alternator!!!!

This must be the issue I'm having on 2008 town and country It turns off while I'm driving the red battery terminal is brand new but wverytime the car stalls and I open the hood I move the red cable and bam it starts again I'm going to try this and hopefully it stops stalling

How is that possible? The alternator prevents shut off because you can remove the battery and it will still run.

I have a 300 Chrysler hemi I have my automatic start I put new batteries in it I started it it runs for 15 seconds and then stalls out what could be my problem the doors are shut though it's shut Chuck but the engine likes on and I don't know why that's on but everything's running fine

my 2017 Ford Fusion shut off as I was stopping at a light. It also put itself in Park. No engine light went on. It restarted without a problem but I went directly to the dealer. Because there was no engine light it was suggested that I continue driving it until it happened again, however I declined and left it for service. It turned out to be the throttle assembly which, of course, I don't understand.

Do NOT assume the problem is the battery connection... it can be something that is NOT detected by the ECM, and so no OBD code is set... It can be that the fuel pressure is marginal and a bad fuel pump is NOT detected by an ECM

If ur car is shutting off when the cable comes lose means ur alternator isn't charging.

Didn't really help it's not the battery or alternator people say its white or a sensor

You could use coper wiring and wrap around terminal then tighten over that

But when the theft light turns back on it'll start back up. It's got a new gas tank put in it new fuel pump and a new computer any ideas what it could be

The fix you did is still only "temporary" because the sad condition of your battery cable Connector end is going to also fail sometime too... You should have said that you know your positive battery cable connector is also very thin and corroding itself to death, and that you will need to change it - either now or later - but you did not even see it, I guess...
The Real reason this happened people is because his Positive Battery Cable Connector is very thin and got that way from corrosion which ate it and made it thin, so it would not fit tightly on the battery post any longer...
You need to address this also, and it will be harder because the Positive Battery Cable goes all the way to the Alternator and has to be removed and and replaced with the new one.. Then, you get it to the Battery post and connect it there..

My 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S with the 1.8 liter (4 cylinder) just started having the "dying while driving" trouble.
Trust me, it is not fun or funny when it happens. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS !!!
Just driving along and it's like someone turns off the ignition key.
No power steering and no power brakes !!!!
If I wait 10 minutes, the car starts back up (until it doesn't) like nothing ever happened, until it happens again.
I just drove a 265 mile trip (all highway) that normally takes 4 1/2 hours now took 7 1/2 hours !!!
Three (total) HOURS on the side of a 4 lane interstate highway !!!
It shut off about 20 times !!!!!
Never had an issue if I just drive it short distances around town doing errands, but not long highway driving.
The car runs perfect (except this problem) and burns zero oil even with 330,000 miles (original engine) and gets 33 mpg.
I hate to get rid of it but my wife will not drive it, and I won't allow her to any longer.
New cars are no better than the old ones just more expensive.
Any help ?????

That's interesting because you can take the battery out once it's running and it will stay running because the alternator holds the charge. The battery just provides the initial jolt to turn the starter

My nissan frontier just cut off going down the road. When you switch it on all the dash lights work like check engine and all of them but it won't turn over or do nothing it won't even click I'm hoping someone can tell me what might be wrong with it. It's a 2018 nissan frontier v6 4.0

Sir, once the car starts you can actually unplug the battery and the car should still run, now if it shuts off when you unplug the battery then you might want to take a look at your alternator.

So the 97 is famous for quitting while you are driving down the road. I replaced the fuel pump, all gas filters, BCM and ECM, EGR valve and cam sensor, None of that had any effect. I noticed so corrosion on the battery hot wire . Mine has 2 wires that come off the Positive post, one to the fuse / relay box, and the other goes to the starter I assume. So the wire frame the post to the fuse / relay box was basically corroded all the way through so the fuses and relays weren’t getting proper volts. Since I replaced that wire,problem solved !!!!

Hi, here my vw polo have the same problem and I open the hood I just touch some wire n when I close the hood the power comes back. Lol I need some tips to fix it. I think the battery connection is fine . Is there any other things to check.

The positive terminal I was working on was so corroded I had to clean it up and discovered whoever worked on it before just tried to tighten it as much as possible and broke one side of the terminal. I replaced it and discovered it probably broke because of the very bad corrosion going on for years. Thanks for the TIP! I replaced the battery after seeing your video. There was a sudden shutdown after all the work I did. The car did start up and suddenly just shutdown. It happened a couple times. Then I remembered seeing you video and I replaced the terminal. Everything resolved! The shop said it was going to be $900 after a diagnoses. This was a 2012 V6 Frontier. Thanks again for a great video!
