Best 20 Isometric Turn-Based RPGs until 2021

Good list. I wouldn't mind seeing a list of games where you can have your own customized party like Dead Fire, Wasteland and Solasta. My own created party gets me more involved with what is happening, even though it does somewhat limit what the creator can do with the story.

What a fantastic list. Saved to my favorites! Probably end up playing all of these. Playing DOS 2 now.

Did you actually enjoy Tides of Numenera? I found it an uninspired copy of Planescape Torment. The writing I found quite bad as well, as using the most complicated and rare words you can find in a dictionary does not make your writing better, it's about conveying emotions and making the reader care about what is happening. Also, what is the reason for not including Fallout 1 and 2?

UMMM why is there no Disgaea?

The classic version of DOS was poorly optimized. I had like 50% MORE fps on the enhanced version.

Some of the games listed (pillars, pathfinder) have "real time with pause" as main mode, turn based as alternate mode.

Problem with wasteland 2 if don’t follow walkthroughs you miss talking to certain characters and missed out big time being able to recruit particular companions. I gave up after a while as this became VERY frustrating. Wasteland 3 is much much better. One of my favourites along with Divinity original sin 3.

Age of Decadence is so good to play.. You don't even need to be good on fighting to bullshit your enemies into killing each other

Someone made a spiritual successor to the original Ogre Battle that REALLY shines. Its called "Symphony of War" over on steam. It could use a few more unit types, and the story is good to cliche to great at times. But if anyone liked the original "Ogre Battle-March of the Black Queen" or even if they are Fire Emblem fans, they should really check it out!

Honestly games like divinitiy 1 & 2 or baldurs gate would be much much better if they weren't turn-based. Makes no fucking sense and destroyes such wonderful looking games. I tried divinity 1 and could not get over it to play it after 10 hours just because of the combat system. It's awful.

Oh man Underrail is freakin excellent. Do yourself a favor and don't read any tutorials if you want an immersive and genuinely eerie experience (but make sure you min-max).

Im on std ps4, love turnbased, like rtwp too.

Own every single one of these games (except Baldur's Gate III. Not sure about it yet at all!). I am an cRPG fan, and I know what I want in one. Hence, no JRPG's, no hack'n'slashes, and so on.

Adding games that are not yet released to the list makes it very unbelievable and unreliable.

And my wishlist just got bigger... And I'm loving it!

Baldur's Gate III isn't even released just on Early Access. So it can't be best of anything.

I played a lot DoS 2, man what a game!! Wasteland series is very good also!!!

You're really the best for people who loves turn based games like me.
