Legislation needs to be introduced preventing ALL Political groups including the Government of the day from threatening or strong arming Australian Policing Agencies or Australian Police Agencies threatened or being forced or pressured by the Government of the day, or individual politicians and political groups to change narratives of investigations that may benefit them.
NT Police have / had that legislation whereby they could tell the political establishment to bugger off without fear of retributions. So essentially Policing is non political. Not sure if that’s still the case but it did exist.
Policing needs to be excluded in it’s entirety of ANY political interference. Certainly protect Commonwealth or State property but NEVER the establishment to favour them in elections.
