❤❤❤love this review
Ответитьhi, Josh! How do you like the image stabilization on the Sigma when you record video? like in movement?
ОтветитьGreat video! Just what I was looking for, switching to the r6 mkii and was looking at the sigma. I was very happy once I saw your name next to the thumbnail, your hands down one of the best at what you do. Id put you up there with potato jet and McKinnon🫡💪Also loving the podcasts.
ОтветитьGreat review. I think I liked the Sigma slightly better for my preference. I think it will be my next purchase tomorrow.
ОтветитьIf you close your eyes you can imagine Deadpool reviewing two lenses 🙃
ОтветитьIt is worth to buy for canon rp instead of 24-105l lense ...my main purpose is wedding videos ...and how z the autofocus of the lens please reply
ОтветитьHello Josh, really nice comparison. Could you please help in one point. How the aperture changes with focal length in both lenses.
ОтветитьBro, so expensive 🥲
ОтветитьYeah the sigma is crazy for the price. You also get IS, you could go for the EF variant if you really want that red ring but imo, sigma definitely takes the cake
ОтветитьWhy you compare the old Sigma?
Also shave your beart, place.
Another incredibly valuable video. Do you think the Sigma would work properly on an R7 with the Canon EF adapter?
ОтветитьGreat comparison, great video. So much information. Thank you🙌🏾
ОтветитьGreat comparison, great video. Thank you!
ОтветитьDo you know if the sigma lens would work with the Canon r50 by any chance?
ОтветитьAwesome video, thanks!
ОтветитьI had the canon RF version and it took a very slight knock against a padded chair that actually broke the outer body in that it twisted away from the inner mechanicals and couldn’t be fixed. The RF lenses are not as tough as the EF lenses and nowhere near as strong as the Sigma Art equivalent which is far more robust.
Ответитьi have watched son many lens reviews before. I normally have to watch for 3 hours to make a decision. However your review was so simple and perfect that it only took this one video to make my decision.
ОтветитьThanks! Great video! Was in the market for a 24-70. Had the Tamron 24-70 G2 but was never satisfied. Too soft and low contrast at the long end. Because i want IS i have to consider between those two lenses. Was able to get a almost new Sigma a few days ago for a good price. Thought i might give it a shop before i empty my pockets for the Canon RF. And i'm really happy so far. I like the images it produces. The lens itself feels great. Much better overall than the Tamron. AF is super fast and accurate. Love it!
ОтветитьI like the Canon a little more.
Sigma has a slightly hotter color tone, Canon is more balanced in saturation and contrast.
Also, Canon handles AF and IS a little better than Sigma.
With that said...
I would definitely go for Sigma's if I had a limited budget. The amount of money you have to spend to take these little advantages isn't that convincing.
Thank you
ОтветитьWhenever I want hear a comparison a couple of lenses or cameras, things I think not many people will be comparing, every time you pop up with the exact video I'm after.
Are you some sort of witch?
Your video helped me a lot.
ОтветитьWhy isn't there any vignetting on the Sigma? I would expect that with RF to EF mount at 24mm
ОтветитьDoes your canon rf make a clicking noise when autofocusing?
ОтветитьThanks for your work !
ОтветитьI can see a bit of 3D pop in the L lens , that what u don't see in the specs
ОтветитьCanon af kills the sigma. No brainer for a pro.
ОтветитьThere is a significant difference in colors. Sigma's color is more vibrant and when you compare it, it looks unnatural...
ОтветитьThanks a lot for this comparison, I was just choosing between these lenses from the review. I almost bought RF 24-70, then I would have lost canon 70-200 F2.8 ii (by selling it), but now I have sigma 24-70 and canon 70-200
ОтветитьI need to add a comment about the sigma
I have two sigma’s art 24-70mm f2.8 and another two canon’s which are used with 4 canon rp câmeras
One sigma got a focus problem after one year of use. The lens was sent for fix, we paid for a new focus sensor and after changing it, nothing happened. The problem persists, it doesn’t focus. Now my second sigma lens started to give a glimpse of might having the same problem.
In my opinion for somebody who use it to shoot 2 to 5k shots in a weekend this lens can’t make it.
I don’t think I’m unlucky that two lenses of the same brand and line are getting the same problem.
Love the RF 24-70mm but it's so expensive.
I will choose Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 G2 over the Sigma.
I think I'll just go with the Sigma. I'm not making money from my photography and I've already saved 1k$ by buying EF versions of L lenses instead of RF ones. They work great and you can't really tell the difference. I've read some photography books and even some pros used tamron and sigma lenses on Canon DSLR bodies.
Ответитьthankyou ✌✌✌✌
ОтветитьMy weighted priorities:
1. Image quality, 70%
2. Accurate & consistent AF, 25%
3. IS, 5%
thank you so much for your review, I am looking for a lens.
Ответитьcanon have really dropped the ball on the RF system. They were behind the mirrorless curve against sony, and also prevented third party manufacturing. Unfortunately, people have realised just how capable old ef lenses and tamron and sigma lenses are with the R bodies, that their prices are still staying up. I mean even 3-4 yr old 24-70's don't go for anything less that 700$ on ebay
ОтветитьFantastic review. Thank you so much. I have longed to buy the Canon after renting it to use with my R6. It was the BEST shoot of my life. BUT the price! If there wasn't a SIGMA that looks SO CLOSE, I'd still have held out for Canon. BUT there is the SIGMA. So I just ordered the Sigma (which is on sale - normally $1299 and right now $1141) and wanted to refresh my memory about why it was so good so I came here and saw the review I'd previously liked :). Sigma was as good or better than the Canon in all cases except Sigma AF was audible (and so is the Sigma 18-35 that I own and LOVE) but not significant. And if I'm micro nitpicking, the IS "could have" a little more nano movements. Canon is double the price so this is an easy Sigma win for me (although I hope they eliminate the motor sound to the Canon level and charge the same).
ОтветитьYou left out the Tamron EF 24-70mm. It has image stabilization too!
Ответитьsigma is more sharp
Ответитьsigma focus is a bit slower and seems to have more saturation than canon
ОтветитьJust had my Canon 24-70mm f2.8 L IS crap out last night. Its my main working lens for jobs photo and video. I am working with an R5 now but still do have some 7D Mark ii as backups and this is the exact video I was looking for. So stoked you made this video. You got my subscribe. Really helped me make the decision to save some money and go with the Sigma and also have the universal compatibility.
ОтветитьExcelent test and comparison. Txs
ОтветитьThank you for this review, I was in between the RF and sigma but think sigma will be the way to go for me
Ответитьexcellent video mate!
ОтветитьI preferred the Canon for the colors it produced, the seemingly smoother stabilization, and it's focusing. I'd say the Sigma was very close in comparison to the point where if I had that lens I'd probably keep it. As for buying one or the other... I think that really comes down to the price difference and whether or not the slight advantage is worth ~$700-1100 price difference. I'm leaning towards the Canon personally. I think it'll perform better for the event photography I typically do.
Ответитьthank you now i know i can´t use the sigma, canon rules
