I agree with just about everything in this video except the “proper” use of dope/tape. Dope on top never gives a cleaner finish than tape on top unless you work in slow motion and never touch the dope with your hands/gloves. Also I’ve done it both ways all my career and have never had a single leak at a thread in 14 years. So it really doesn’t have a “proper” way. Just do it either way and learn to tighten stuff properly. Don’t be lazy and two tug your wrench, save that for your bedroom lol.
ОтветитьNew subscribers feel like after watching your videos I can become a certified plumber . Videos are dummy proof if I understand them anyone should lol .
Ответитьawesome video learned tons thank you man
ОтветитьDielectric unions are trash. Coming from a 18 year well seasoned plumber. Separate it with 6” of brass
ОтветитьWell if anybody is stupid enough to cut into a pipe while it's turned on they shouldn't be doing plumbing
ОтветитьOh not only I truly enjoyed watching but I learned a lot.
This video was impressive, extremely informative and illustrated 👌👌👌🙏🙏🙏

Bro is always so legit 👍
ОтветитьHalf of these are automatically resolved by not using copper in first place. This is the 21th century, use PEX.
ОтветитьAs a note. You don't need a backflow preventer on every fixture. You can install a single backflow preventer where the sewer enters the house and it meets every code. You also aren't required to have one if you house is above the city sewer line as it won't reach your home in a backup. Code only requires them installed if you are below street level of the nearest manhole (an important distinction as somehairpin turn streets have homes who connect to the street below theirs).
ОтветитьI am teaching basic plumbing in Spain, and tomorrow I will put your video to my pupils; the don´t speak English but such a high quality video explains by itself.
ОтветитьOne of the best in plumbing. Thank you!
ОтветитьGreat job
ОтветитьEven worse than paper towels in the plumbing are those semi-cloth wipes, like clorox wipes sold in the U.S. I've rodded out more than a few lines where those were the culprit.
Ответить🤗
ОтветитьMy dude I am so glad you posted this video. Gotta add a P trap at a relatives home.
Ответитьthanks for the video, nice set of reminders of mistakes to avoid.
ОтветитьReally great but did anyone else notice the drywall screws being out into copper hanger to hold the pipe up...
This also will corrode due to dissimilar metals ..
Need to use a copper nail or screw.. 😊
I did not see the aluminum hose bib problem. .. but someone else commented on it 😊
What would make you think that baking soda and vinegar isn’t corrosive?
Ответитьusing drain cleaner is ok if you wash out the chemical after ya use it with warm water and dish or laundry soap for a few minutes or wash baking soda down the drain to neutralize the acidity
ОтветитьGreat videos man, I now feel very confident in at least trying some soldering on practice pipes that aren't in use. not that ill ever be a plumber, but its still cool and interesting to me. I actually install hardsurface flooring for a living haha.
ОтветитьDon’t do it yourself hire a licensed plumber. What the hell is this?
ОтветитьWow wow wow there is so a VERY VOOD REASON TO GET BOTH KINDS of plungers...ready...1 of them is gonna go in SHITTY NASTY PEE AND POOP WATER and the other is gonna go where u brush ur teeth/clean dishes/bathe ur body
ОтветитьU can use water to cool the joint down but u have to let it kool natiral first for a few seconds. I usually wait about 30-60 secs b4 adding water...sometimes longer if im pissed at my work partner
ОтветитьUse some sandcloth to get the paint off the pvc pipe
ОтветитьTape then pipe dope
ОтветитьI did enjoy it, thanks!
ОтветитьGreat video talk me some things I can use daily
ОтветитьAmazing tips and information, great quality videos. I would just suggest to lose the background music or keep it at lower volume.
ОтветитьGreat info and good video
ОтветитьPra que diabos usar um cano de cobre se eu posso usar um de PVC? 😑 這沒有意義
ОтветитьSoldiering caps??? Heat expands and get leaks on closed system
ОтветитьDude, your video's rad. Thank you. We have a main bathroom who's sink has a plastic corrugated p-trap. It's always clogged, never drains and always fills the sink up. It sucks thank you for your video. Fantastic is another word for outstanding. Thank you. Great stuff. Thumbs up and I'll subscribe.
ОтветитьDoes the person who makes these videos go by the name of Captain Obvious? The information you are giving to the viewers is too vague and broad , especially if it’s a do it yourself person. At the end of the spectrum is a person like myself who has almost 30 years of experience in commercial plumbing and feels like I just wasted 10 minutes of my life watching things that we do all day everyday without even having to think about it’s like breathing air into are bodies we just do it and never have to think about how or why we are doing it .
ОтветитьOne of the weirdest toilet failures I have run across involved Q-tips.. The toilet would flush when dealing with liquid but fail when dealing with any solid material. Plunging did not solve the problem and neither would a closet auger. The toilet would drain but the problem would happen the next time the toilet had to deal with solid waste. After several attempts to fix the problem the toilet was pulled and it was found that several Q-tips had wound up lying across the toilet outlet. Liquid would pass but solids would become blocked by the Q-tips. A plunger just agitated the Q-tips and a closet auger went between them without removing them. It required the messy and unnecessary job of pulling the toilet because someone was too lazy to throw them into the trash can..
ОтветитьWhy not just show people the correct way to repair this? This rig job took just as long if not longer to complete. Its not worth the risk of coming home to a flooded house.
ОтветитьWhen I have 2 copper pipes touching, I clean them and put a dab of solder between them.
Ответитьwhoa ... sorry ... id def recommend having two plungers ... one only for toilet and one plunger only for sink
ОтветитьThis video is amazing ‼️‼️‼️🎉🎉
ОтветитьThank you. I am just finishing up a leaking water inlet for my old house out in the country. My blind dog fell in it last night. I used sharkbite connectors and have one more to go! Just hope I can cover the lines from the sun!
ОтветитьWell I got 28 out of 30.
ОтветитьChange your music..
ОтветитьAmazing! I've done my own plumbing repairs for years and have made some errors you pointed out. Thanks!!!!!!
ОтветитьMy uncle made all these 30 mistakes in one day.
Ответитьincredible video
ОтветитьEverybody who does plumbing work, hires plumbers, has plumbing in their home or has ever seen a pipe should watch this video.
ОтветитьThe background music is so distracting and noisy.
