Sony 2023 OLED TV Review - Smooth Gradation King! (A80L)

if you calibrate Sony A80L will it get brighter.?

I really am appreciative and thankful for these review. I picked one of these up today (77")and if I can find this video in the future I'll come back and report. I've been watching this channel for a few years now and I cannot tell you how appreciative I am of the time that has put into these reviews with the technical detail. Between this Channel and rtings, I ended up doing rock, paper, scissors with the sales guys between the a90l, s90c and the C3. A90L was the winner. I'm sure I would have been happy with any one of them.

For my living room - Should I go with LG C3 or A80L . Should I be concerned about A80L's low brightness ?

Does it have film maker mode ? I hate soap opera effect and need to turn off those interpolation

So this doesn’t support 4K 120 FPS on Series X?

@hdtvtest Can you find out if the 83” A80L has the heat sink? It has identical build/design as the 83A90J, and includes features of the A90J that the other sizes of the A80L don’t have, like Center Speaker in.

Just got this TV yesterday and while playing on PS5 for about 20 minutes noticed considerable amount of auto dimming compared to the LG C1

I actually really Love soap opera effect and will probably get this tv soon, hopefully its good at that

I'm an LG fan yet I saw this unit along with the Sony FALD options for 2023 and they all seemed to share the same thing in common even though diff technology - the texture. Food, people all popped out and animal fur look absolutely insane the texture feels 3D I don't get it. Movies were filmic and perfect temperature. I looked back at G3 and C3 in all sizes and sure the colours and refresh rate were nice but it just didn't have that pop. Even digital slides with words popped.. I'm lost now not sure how they do it

So they put the gaming menu on the A80K but not on the A80J ? This is so stupid.

Hmm… did Sony flat out fix the flashing blacks on OLEDs for non QD-OLED TVs? That would be amazing.
