IELTS Reading for Band 9 without Skim and Scan for Answers

This is absurd and I can tell all the reasons why. And please dont equate key words with just the same word. Synonyms, having the same context and lastly specifics such as names and examples are worth taking note of. Candidates dont have the luxury to read an entire passage and to expect them to paraphrase in multiple ways. This will only work for C3 level examinee

That's the exact thing I instruct my students to do. But one thing, I always tell my students to read 1st questions of the each question type which comes orderly, and all questions of those that doesn't come orderly. For example, in the reading passage provided, after reading 1st paragraph my students would read all questions of 1st type, which is headings. Then, to save time, they will read the first questions of multiple choice and complete summary question types. What do you say about it?

I don't know abt others but first i started skimming and scanning but now i don't reason cant manage time. Instead i remember key words of 2 question and solve if paragraph deals with 2 types of question then i note down key words with paragraphs because it is easy to remember 😅

I am watching this video last night of my exam 😢

Got 9 bands through skimming and scanning and finished within 30 mins. So had the leisure to read ALL the paragraphs twice in the remaining 30 mins.

But Some texts are difficult for Examiners so Skim and scanning would work in this situations

Some people say that Skimming and Scanning will save your time and help you find the answer, no matter you understand the content of the passge or not, but In fact I don't think so, some Reading passages are too difficult, and it requires you to understand them pretty clearly to answer such mutiple choice questions or matching heading, you're totally right, however, time is so restricted :)) I never use Skimming and Scanning in Ielts reading, instead, I choose to comprehend each passage, this gives me the best answers but never keep pace with time limits
