Peter - what would you do with a grafted deshojo that is over 5’ tall, but only a 1/2” thick/
ОтветитьYou could have air rooted the tree before cutting it so you would have had 2 big trees.
ОтветитьDear Peter. Another fantastic video thank you! I have a young Japanese maple that for 2 years now always has some of its leaves dry and curl up through the summer. Soil seems to be in good condition and watering is also sufficient. Any wisdom you can impart on what could be causing this?
ОтветитьWonderful to have an opportunity to experience an artist at work and to have him verbalise the thought process so honestly.
ОтветитьSo in awe of your artistic visions ❤️
ОтветитьThis is what is called pasion and profesionalism. A pleasure to see all this!
ОтветитьHow old are they when you do the first cut?
ОтветитьI live in New York it’s end of may I have a maple in ground I wanna keep it small is it ok to cut back now or wait
ОтветитьSo no matter it’s full summer, you can make all those cuts? I thought there are only like two times a year you can prune maples…
ОтветитьSo it’s safe to do this in July? I always thought this should be done in early spring.
ОтветитьWill you share what you use to seal your cuts? I’d appreciate it. I love your videos. Thank you.
ОтветитьOMG! I have a lot of Bloodgood Japanese Maples 7 years old, and I never had the courage to Prune them. I am so surprised that you are so brave to just prune them so fast :) I never pruned my Crimson queens and Orangeola too.....oh my.....I think I have to start learning how to be brave and prune them....:(
ОтветитьTHANK YOU PETER!!!!❤
ОтветитьThis is an unbelievable video. What a collection, please never stop making videos 🙏
ОтветитьAbout 20 years ago, I lost many 10-20 year old bonsai. I have just resumed. After watching Peter I really wonder: only if we had these videos earlier. Still, I am only 66 years :) Lets see what I do with my cuttings that I hope to develop as bonsai.
ОтветитьPeter Chan: 'I would air layer it, but I have too many' me, who's surrounded by beech trees: NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
ОтветитьYou are a genius. It’s great to see the bad along with the good, honest, trustworthy, sincere. The enthusiasm is infectious.I just can’t get enough and learn so much with every video. Bravo.
ОтветитьThank you... 🙏 😔 🙏
Dr. Chan it is amazing to see you "throw away" so much good maple material.
🙏 🖖 🙏 😔 🙏 🙏 🙏
hi when you say feed them heavy what fertilizer/method and how often do you recommend peter. thanks lee
ОтветитьI just got started in bonsai and Im almost 40 years old😂 I wish I had started sooner, that being said, I hope I can live as long and get around as fast as Heron does!👍 keep cutting HERON! Im “rooting” for you!😂👍
ОтветитьYes sri maple syrup is on the way listening household I penalty 😂cutting tree very well know what ok very much loy Michigan already maple 🇺🇸
Ответитьlet me tell you that i admire you since i saw your first video, i wish i could live out of my passion like you. you remind me of Takashi Amano, people loving nature so much that made it their lives. i collect small acer trees here in Germany.
ОтветитьAnd thousands more of us
ОтветитьThank you very much for all the beautiful trips around the nursery and precious knowledge ❤️❤️
ОтветитьIs maple can grow in tropical country like mine Indonesia sir?
ОтветитьYour enthusiasm reminds me of Michael Bonfanti, founder of Gilroy Gardens. He owned grocery stores but sold them to focus on moving huge trees, like the Circus Trees. I would visit his nursery, he had full grown Live Oaks in massive planters shaped like your bonsai pots. Should look up his work, not sure if he is still with us
ОтветитьI'm sure he's covered it in older videos, but can anyone tell me what Peter uses to seal all the cuts he makes?
ОтветитьWhy would/should one cut the main trunk and select a new lead branch? Is this done to force movement into the tree or is there a health reason?
ОтветитьYou take seconds to prune them! Must be from the years of experience 😎👍🏻
ОтветитьAll your bonsai and plants are so luxurious. Why not make a full video about how you fertilise and water them.
ОтветитьLove it, no beating around the bush, just straight in there to see the future tree
ОтветитьI love how excited he gets when showing maples. I feel the same excitement when I look at my maples…and they’re not as exceptional as his.
ОтветитьGreat video Peter. The camera work was not so good on this one though
ОтветитьWhat is the name of that green maple
ОтветитьMakes me nearly cry when you hack that much tree off the top of them 🥴 all for a good cause though 👍
ОтветитьWhat sealer are you using? Thanks!
Ответить🤍❤🤍💚👍👍👍
Ответить'' Look at this lovely 5 foot tree! '' Cuts it down immediately to 1 foot 😂😂😂
ОтветитьWhy why why do you have to be in the UK? Look at all those bonsai in the background. I'd be so happy with even a single Maple bonsai!
ОтветитьThank You... I am amazed how you just boom, bang , Bing , this is what needs to be done and it's so right.. the knowledge you share fills my heart... I am a newbie but have always wanted to do this and I've found my kindred spirit to lead me.... Thank You Peter
