1992 was such a tough year for me, these highlights remind me of how horrible the LA riots were, and for good reason. To date 1992 was and hopefully remains my worst year. I noticed my moms death, and then 7 weeks later my dads death didn’t make the cut. The Marlboro man stood in their place, so that is appropriate, they were 52 and 54 when they died from smoking related illnesses. RIP everyone that lost their life by the evil promotion of smoking cigarettes, proof that capitalism is more valued than human life.

the michaelangelo virus was a funny thing in the sense that people, including my parents thought it was spread thru the power lines into the computers. not realizing that the only way it can get there is via an infected floppy disk or an internet connection and opening a file with it.

i remember watching them unplug the computer in the house that day to prevent it from getting a virus the lack of internet would never give it lol.

Overall, 1992 was not a good year at all, for the economy, or for a lot of other people, including me.
It sucked. And the depressing, heroin fueled Grunge scene was superimposed upon it all.
On top of that, Satanism was becoming very popular as a younger public backlash to the tele-evangelism pressure.
The Dream Team was the one bright spot in years' event.
I moved from Naples in South Florida, to Jacksonville In North Florida, in June, 2 months before hurricane Andrew hit. I would certainly have been affected in Naples, right across the state from Miami, if I had stayed.
The decade really would not begin to get better in every way until 1993.

What a year 1992 was! The Rodney King attack which was absolutely heartbreaking which led to the LA riots, The Jeffrey Dahmer sentencing, The summer and winter olympics, Hurricane Andrew, The presidential election and the beginning of my senior year of high school. It all seemed like yesterday.
