Guilty in 2024 ,watching on an I phone made in sweat shops by Asian children and minerals probably mined by slaves ...then I m gonna go get some money printed out of thin air and buy another version when it comes out ...360 deal
ОтветитьI love pot..pot lead me to Joe Rogan... Joe led me to Lex...lex lead me here....thank you pot!
So to all you gateway deniers....
Man is Dessalines' eloquence frightening.
ОтветитьIf you want to save 5 hours of your life....black people are bad too, slavery was due to the times, and white people freed the slaves ...and without it....we wouldn't have the progress we have today....
ОтветитьWow Dan I didn't know you were a white supremacist
ОтветитьAnd now we have the NEW, WORLD, ORDER to deal with !
ОтветитьWoke revisionist nonsense.. Smh
ОтветитьReminds me of the Dave Chappelle skit where he's done up as one of the founding fathers, writing the declaration "we hold these truths to be self evident, -make me a sandwich n****r or I'll kill you"
ОтветитьThis is unbelievable thank you so much.
Your voice is fab and it's totally gripping! X
Who freed the slaves? White peoples. Nuff said!!!
ОтветитьThomas Sowell's explanations of African slavery is perfect. Unfortunately, YT doesnt like hard truths. So many Black Americans will never see it, or even accept it.
ОтветитьThank you for your hard work
Ответить1700s you had natives harvesting rice in Minnesota before it was took over
ОтветитьIt cracks me up when Dan describes himself as "not an historian" 😂
ОтветитьTakes mice 5 generations to forget trauma
ОтветитьThere is a lot of information about modern day slavery readily available. A lot of it relates to work entrapment, kidnapping, trafficking. Recruitment of domestic labor, even adoption.
ОтветитьGotta do a Grant vs. Lee Mr. Carlin America needs it
ОтветитьLook I’m not a historian, but……………………….
lol. Only a real historian could say that.
I’ve been playing finger style guitar for 40 years and still practice 2 hours everyday, look I’m not a real guitarist, but………………….
This episode alone deserves a spot in every middle school's history class. A tour of college campuses etc.
Ответить9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? This means very few males and possibly females would not be above abusing slaves. i am reminded affluence is a big part of neighbors helping neighbors to keep blacks enslaved. funny how money causes cow towing.
ОтветитьI enjoy how racists reply to this episode. It's and example of their depravity and moral inferiority.
ОтветитьThis episode made me feel the horror and suffering of slavery in a way that history class never did. I'm older now, but I think it was the simple details. When I heard that a hole was dug in order to beat a pregnant woman and that the violence of the beating induced labor, I started sobbing.
Ответить🗨 "WITH THE HELP OF HASHEM (GOD), ꓢꙆ ꓥꓦꓰRY WILL RETURN... THE GOYIM WANT TO BE OUR ꓢꙆ ꓥꓦꓰꓢ. BEING A ꓢꙆ ꓥꓦꓰ OF A ⱹꓰꓪ IS THE BEST! THEY MUST BE ꓢꙆ ꓥꓦꓰꓢ. THEY WANT TO BE ꓢꙆ ꓥꓦꓰꓢ.. INSTEAD OF JUST WONDERING THE STREETS -- FOOLISH AND VIOLENT, HARMING EACH OTHER -- NOW HIS LIFE BEGINS [AS A ꓢꙆ ꓥꓦꓰ]. OF COURSE, RACISM EXISTS! ARE WE UNAWARE THAT THERE ARE DIFFERENT RACES? IS IT UNTRUE? WHAT CAN YOU DO -- IT'S TRUE. YES, WE ARE RACISTS -- WE BELIEVE IN RACISM... NATIONS HAVE GENETIC CHARACTERISTICS... I SEE MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GREATER THAN THEIRS."

I wish he would post all the great Episodes from his website. I know there's a paywall but I think with monetized episodes it might make up for it.
ОтветитьChristians weren't responsible for persecution. It was the Catholic church. Which by the way persecuted Christians. The Catholic Church is apostate. It belongs to Satan. The rabbit holes you have to go down to come to this conclusion involve many different stories and accountings.
ОтветитьMore slaves today (2023) then ever before, about 50 million and counting.
ОтветитьUnfortunate that so many people of color had such a warm, giving humanity.
Slaughtering Europeans on sight might have saved them from genocide.
this is one of his best imho. the first hour is so gut wrenching.
ОтветитьYou are a Meister at Storytelling and A Master of Dictation .
Please, muster on.
Slaves have been around as long as the written word but ask a liberal and only americant black ppl suffered
Ответитьacknowledging the duration of the trauma is welcome
ОтветитьGreat history lesson except there weren't any Indians in the new world. They were indigenous people or Americans.
ОтветитьWe are all still slaves! If your in debt, then your a slave of money, the creditor. So even now,we are in slavery.
ОтветитьI have an issue with this podcast. Dan goes so far out of the way to not be offensive and I'm here listening to this at work and he's talking about green banana and yellow banana what! Are you talking about Dan! Going to have to skip this 1 for sure
ОтветитьFinally discovering this and making the time to listen to it I find it heartbreaking that as an American this just was never taught to us. And I understand why. I went to many schools across the states, moving frequently in my childhood. Everywhere has different motives for what they teach but at the core there's only one chief principle; America is the Greatest. We can't allow for anything good to be the idea of another nation. It is incredibly sad to learn now, over a decade after graduation, that a little mentioned nation of Haiti had such an immense impact on the world and role in the death of slavery. But no, not in our textbooks. I don't know if other nations are the same and struggle to admit in their childrens' educational textbooks when their nation made mistakes or supported abhorrent practices, but it is so incredibly evident and poorly papered over here.
ОтветитьWho owned the ships
ОтветитьThis Blitz is literally as long as the invasion of Denmark.
Except I would bet more people have died while listening to this than did during the defense.
I like you Mr Carlin
ОтветитьThanks so much Dan, these videos are invaluable.
ОтветитьThis is phenomenal work, Carlin is amazing, I would love to hear a deep dive on whaling.
ОтветитьWow, this is indeed hadrdcore.
ОтветитьExcellent as always..everyone should listen..thanks Dan and all the best
ОтветитьOdd thought but Mediterranean people particularly males do have G6PD, deficiency which can limit the effects of malaria. So, given the thought of Alexander going into central Africa, maybe malaria wouldn’t have been as devastating as Dan believed in college.
ОтветитьI think it is important to note (and say), that while of course things were very different in any period of the past, and it is meaningless to apply our present day generally accepted morality to past times, it is not the case that the backwards ways of thinking were universal human features. Not all people were equally cruel, in fact many were kind, just as one would find today. It may be very unlikely for a kind person to end up as a captain of a merchant ship, but that does not mean that people who were decent, or people who knew better than the common morality of the time, did not exist. They may have been ignored and written off as idiot dreamers, just as people are today who want to make things better, but it does not mean they did not exist at all in past times, and by denying their existence, one gives far too much leeway to clearly evil acts simply because they took place in history. There's a heck of a lot of raw ugly evil going on right now, today, too, it doesn't mean people in the future should say of us "Times were different, nobody must have know better then for all these wars and horrible things to have been happening."
