Ответить"You don't go with Concrete guy #1 because he's high...Not on drugs but on his quote", hahahah
ОтветитьI just found this channel and watched this video! It’s such a blessing!
ОтветитьI am considering purchasing your spreadsheet. I have watched your videos multiple times and honestly you got me sold. I do have a question pertaining to the video vs the actual spreadsheet. Does the spreadsheet have all the items you have listed on the video. Such as concrete, widows, doors, roofing etc. or do we have to input that info ourselves.
ОтветитьJesse,
Do you bid out absolutely everything and then submit your price to your clients or do you estimate everything in house and then get vendors to adjust to your pricing. I ask because sometimes you hand these plans out and the subs are already so busy you don't get your prices back in time or whatever excuse they give you. We are in Panama City coming up on our 5yr anniversary of hurricane Michael so its slowing down some.
the vid helps a lot tysm
ОтветитьNew to your Channel, do you have a site for all this type of stuff
Ответитьgood for you man, lots of guys want to be in the position for you
ОтветитьNice video, very helpful information... I have a small $35-$40k job thk for the information,,,,
ОтветитьHi am a construction 🚧 student in the Gambia 🇬🇲 I hope that I will learn a lot from you
Ответитьplease can you teach me via zoom how to estimate? understand construction and tips on finishing? thanks
ОтветитьIs there a new version?
ОтветитьI’m an electrician by trade but noticed the profitability of the GC. I have now teamed up with a large GC company to learn the game completely before attempting to climb the ladder again. I’m a Jax native and love your videos! Your my source for common sense advice and direction in this new to me field. Thanks so much for your videos! I would love to buy you dinner and a beer to say thanks.
Ответить🤌🏼
ОтветитьTo calculate the percentage of indirect overhead or office overhead ,it is good to divide the last year’s office overhead by the total projects’ value and multiply by 100.
This is the best average percentage for office overhead to be added to each project you bid for.
To qualify the subcontractors and to know they included all the required material and trade related activities, the General contractor’s estimators should have at least quantities take off of the material for all trades.
Ответитьthanks for the video bruh. only comment is do you have some sort of system in place after the project is over, like putting unit rates into a database, SF costing, what went well, what didn't blah blah blah. what doesn't get measured gets missed (or managed). nice to see there are other people in the industry that keep it simple and don't get overly fancy with a bunch of software. Excel is KING haha
ОтветитьCool video brother! Thanks for taking the time out to help us newbie GCs 😎🙌
ОтветитьI appreciate your help with the videos
Ответитьyou need to charge at least 20% markup to make a living
ОтветитьI bought the spreadsheet but am racking my brain as to how the margin % is not affected by profit %. Isn't margin % directly affected by profit markup. I usually markup my remodels by 43% to hit my 30% margin but your updated spreadsheet margin % decreases if I increase profit %
ОтветитьDo you have something on topic concerning Office Manager, Job details/responsibilities & what to be expected from this position.
Attempting to separate the GC , PM , OM positions. Majority Residential work with few commercial in the mix.
Great stuff..Thx
Ответитьgood stuff!
Ответить,,,
ОтветитьHey Jesse love the vids. Do you do any consulting? Let me know.
ОтветитьThanks man
ОтветитьAll estimating software is based on Microsoft Excel. You can take the time to build your own custom Excel spreadsheet or buy a packaged type. They are all meant to give you the same thing; TRUE COST. Then you have to decide how much money you want to make. Good luck!
ОтветитьVery well done. This is a great overview on estimating construction projects.
ОтветитьFor that algorithm
Ответитьwould this work for subcontractors
Ответитьdo you have a video showing how to write a design bid for architectural fees, behind the scenes running around to the city, etc?
ОтветитьHay quá
ОтветитьFantastic job
ОтветитьAspiring Gen Con Here 👍
ОтветитьYou’re not a GC. A GC has over all knowledge and is able to do the majority of all jobs in all trades. This new bullshit racket you young non performing punks are tuning is stealing. You’re the type of dude that marks up a dumpster.
ОтветитьI am training to be an estimator at work. It seems like a lot of stuff to learn. But your a good teacher and I like your spreadsheet. It seems like an awful lot for a beginner though like me
Ответитьgreat vid man, thanks so much!
ОтветитьGreat information
Ответитьthis is gold, organization 10/10, simplicity 10/10, value per minute 10/10
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьIs there a special software for measuring and estimating the building in English or is it only done in Excel?
ОтветитьHi Jesse, I have a master's degree in civil engineering and I know Persian meters and estimates. Since I am traveling to Denmark, I need to learn building measurement and estimation in English in order to find a job there. can you help me? Thank you.
ОтветитьVery informative! Thank you for explaining allllll the facets and rules/regs for anyone to learn. Keep your down to earth character! My career was in medicine for years then my husband took a leap of faith and left his industrial plant job to start from scratch. Your videos are such a relief!!! Thank you and I pray God grows your company!
ОтветитьWhy the Mac 🖥 is better then Windows for General constructions purpose?
ОтветитьThank you! Glad I found your page, I will be downloading the tool kit.
ОтветитьWhat a nice information! Thank you I will put it in practice with my business
ОтветитьVery informative! Thank you, J. Jane
ОтветитьGreat information. I am a materials testing engineer. What fees do you see as reasonable from your testing firm?
ОтветитьJesse - I recently passed my law and trade exam in CA for my General A Construction License. My license is still being processed with the CSLB. I'm starting my excavation, trenching, site prep, road construction business. I'll be registered as SDVOSB. I'm looking to get into sub-contracting until I can contract out my own jobs. would you recommend a different spreadsheet for someone like me who is literally just starting out on my own? thanks for your time.
