He fakes his accent, speaking with that super annoying vocal fry affectation. He is so artificially posed, everything he does is calculated to obtain a pompous effect, he has zero spontaneity and zero humor, he is all about appearance and zero about substance, an utterly fake and boring character. He just has one great talent: convincing people who are even more frivolous than him, to buy his useless objects at a price 1000 times higher than their real value.

I believe that he is reserved, conservative and probably not egotistic amongst his peers, but very much a 'proven' and switched-on business man who probably shouldn't be crossed on a bad day. Personally, I believe his design (both past and present) are pure classic style.

His scents are amazing? Most people can’t buy his stuff but it’s great to see someone having this drive and inspiration.

In this piece it definitely seems a constructed performance. Years ago I saw him at a preview of his first film A Single Man, and his quietness, reserve and deference was striking. Colin Firth was also there and seeing his reaction to Ford’s comments about him landed in a very intimate way.

i met him in santa fe in early 2005, as i worked in a famous indian arts shop and he was looking for a concho belt for his sister which i tried on for him, he was super nice and polite and also was with his companion who did not look well, but i did enjoy our brief meeting, the next day his parents came in and they were very friendly too.
