Omg…ending a planet fitness membership is almost impossible
ОтветитьAlways wondered why some of the of gyms I've gone to in the past have newbies doing these super extreme looking work outs. Guess it makes sense now..
ОтветитьI’ve heard lots of ppl having issues. I cancelled at good life after years of membership to go to my local gym instead - saved a 20 min commute. No issues, they were nice and understanding. Then Covid hit and I built a home gym, so cancelled snap fitness again w no issues. I run, bike and lift weights at home now. That said, Garmin is telling me I have a 2 hour zone 2 bike ride to do and I’m here procrastinating lol.
ОтветитьOne of the things that I see in these type os videos is that they hit it from the side of negative and positive yet lets ask ourselves a question or 1000. " Why is it that there are so many unhealthy people in the world and why do they go to get gym memberships in the first place?"
The reason are simple they have tried to go at it alone and they are thinking the cheaper route is the best and that is why so many gyms like th big box gyms keep winning.
Made me subscribe to this channel
ОтветитьI get my moneys worth at my gym
Ответитьi wanna get fit really badly but i dont wanna deal with bs from Planet Fitness or other smaller ones who charge ALOT of money monthly it's stressful because i have anxiety and idk what to do
ОтветитьIm headed to the park right now.
ОтветитьAs a salesman for one of the biggest gyms in Canada I'm actually incentivised to encourage my customers to stay consistent and keep coming because a customer who always comes is less likely to cancel and a customer who is comming will probably refer their friends.
ОтветитьThere is a huge gap here for non-profit member owned gyms that regular people can join and go to without being shamed or robbed blind.
ОтветитьI searched trying to find out why gym now try to be cafes, healthy food restaurants and coworking spaces all at once. Makes sense, attracts and keep more people and keep business within the niche.
ОтветитьVillainizing fitness is WILD. Yes, there are bad aspects but way more benefits.
Ответитьdont tell planet fitness that i got my pass for free and am not actually paying anything to work out there 🤐
ОтветитьI work out at LVAC. This gym is awesome! It has an indoor running track, huge pool, sauna, jacuzzi, spin classes, dumbells go to 130 pounds and many treadmills. I workout five days a week. I am in great shape. I am 57 years old.
ОтветитьIs it funny that I am watching this from a gym?😅
ОтветитьI never signed up for it, but I knew a lot of people who signed up to a local gym. It was easy to sign up, it was cancelling that was the problem. They would not answer their emails which was the only way to get ahold of them. No one who owns to business or would know any numbers worked there. The only people who worked there were people who cleaned really late at night. Most people did cancel by using the local bank (telling the bank to not allow funds to go through) and keep sending emails saying they have proof that they tried to cancel. Word got around the small town and everyone became too scared to use that gym. They shut down and a new guy bought it. It is now cheaper and nicer. It is easy to sign up and just as easy to cancel. Now he still is not doing amazing since that location still has a bad name, even more so since he didn't change a thing on the inside and doesn't show a name on the building (the previous owner did not as well), but he is doing well enough. Now though there are three gyms in my tiny town. My town is a very odd place of six pizza places (and not much else food wise), three gyms, ten antique shops, three pot places, two small factories, and no recreational places to speak of. We had a bowling alley and it got shut down years ago due to black mold, our theater was built in 1924 so only shows one movie three times a week, arcades closed decades ago, and nothing to really do, but for when our local library does things and most people don't want to leave their houses. Sometimes I feel like I am in a King book and am waiting for a creature to attack.
ОтветитьThank you❤ Soon🎉
ОтветитьI use my town's rec center, a lot of towns and cities have free rec centers that have gym equipment.
ОтветитьI meen this is missing out on major logic, gyms dont want you to fail your goals and give up, quitting meens not renewing your membership and the gym losing a member and that monthly money, however much it would be, also not everyone who goes doesnt want to do it, alot of people actually enjoy lifting, memberships arent a scam, at a good gym you have access to thousand and thousands of pounds worth of equipment that most people just wouldnt be able to afford on their own, is it better working out at home, absolutely.. if you have the equipment, but if you want a good home gym it is going to take a very big investment and even then chances are you wont have as good or diverse range of equipment that a gym has. I meen i dunno how it works in america but gyms here dont have cancellation fees, the contract isnt set up the same
ОтветитьThe main problem is that in North America, you can’t get any exercise, so in Europe, you get you exercise by going through life. Go see Not Just Bikes to understand more
ОтветитьThe fact that Planet Fitness has gym space available to only a fraction of the members, resembles the way banks deal with money. That is, they do not physically have all of it and they are relying on the fact that everyone will not show up at once to withdraw.
ОтветитьHaving free weights at home and doing cardio outside is also a much cheaper alternative to gyms. You dont need machines you can do ALOT with just some dumbells youd be suprised
ОтветитьIf a company decides to capitalize on the masses' poor discipline and inability to put the fork down to make millions.....more power to them. We need to stop interfering with evolution. Maybe I should open my own gym to get in on this action lol.
ОтветитьI do yoga, Tai chi, tai chi weapons, jujitsu, cycling, skating, in-line skating, trike carving, Nordic pole walking, archery.walking, hiking. I do have my own home gym though.
ОтветитьI always just buy people home gym stuff, that they got tired of hanging their clothes on them.
ОтветитьAbout 20 years ago, I went to some extra Juijitsu classes as I was from work for a few months. While there one day, I noticed a line up of people outside the lead instructor’s office. After he was done, I thought he had done a demo & these people were signing up. He said, No, they have been members for the same amount of time you have. I asked why I never saw the. He told me that they come by & pay up for a year each year. And buy all the new merchandise he had of course ordered in. I asked why he kept letting them. He said, it takes about 5,000 white belt sign ups to get one black belt out the other end.
ОтветитьJan, feb is super bust, by march or April they often less people
Ответить24hr gupym used to have a drop in punch card.
ОтветитьThe gyms in the 60’s, were in seedy part of town, often in basements. No fancy clothes & no windows & almost No females.
ОтветитьJust looking at this comment section, many gyms function beyond their stated business goals of exercise space, such as doubling for the modern day "public bathhouse" in 1st world countries.
Whether living in ancient Rome or Random town USA there will always be a need for that sortve service available for a reasonable fee. Gyms go beyond pumping iron and getting swole.
Just because something is scam for many, doesn’t necessarily mean that it is for all
Simply put, if you get a gym membership and you know what you want to get out of it (by way of just exercising on your own or with a personal or group trainer), then and ONLY then will you not regret buying into that gym membership
Case in point, I joined Anytime Fitness by way of this one thing that my health insurance offers back in October, and suffice to say, I’ve been more than happy with them. I got into their group classes now 5 days a week, and I’ve been more than happy with the results that I’ve been seeing from not only them, but also by way of changing up my diet through way of a network of dieticians they also work with (and covered by said health insurance too).
it has been a nightmare for me
they caused me to regress in my progress and i spent so much in physical therapy
they are a scam for sure
and very well protected by law
it makes me think that when lawyers don’t want to mess with them and politicians cant change laws to protecter the consumer
what are they front for?
My mother and father in law have a fitness together.
Most of their customers are local friends that go to their fitness because with the annual membership, you have access to free extra activities such as Zumba, Spinning....
And the overall experience is fully adjusted to every customer. I once went to another fitness and damn does the mood changed quickly
Please stop telling people this. The new year resolution crowd is subsidising my gym membership. I pay an average of $5 each time I go to my gym, to work out, shower, use the steam room, use the wifi, etc. There's no way in hell that covers all the costs. I need members who don't turn up to keep paying so that I can keep doing what I do!
ОтветитьEverywhere I have ever lived has a gym to use included with my rent. Right now I live in a townhome community with a very nice free gym.
Ответитьi run outside most of the year, but i need to go inside for 3 months here in New England at least part of the time. Doing some weight lifting, especially squats, is good for many people especially as they get older. Stretching in the gym is good, but you can make do at home.
ОтветитьAnd the easiest way to defeat this scam is just go to workout, just as planned.
ОтветитьThe gym called Planet Fitness is where wrestler Plant Stasiak went to work-out, and how long did he last in the WWE, especially against Brock Lesner? Talk about Planet nothing! Ha ha ha ha 😄😆😅😂
ОтветитьHowever, I like lifting weights and using cardio equipment. I don't want to hog up space in my house with gym equipment. I am totally fine with a gym membership, and I get my money's worth at LA Fitness. However, if I had the money, I would start a gym that is a phone-free space with excellent equipment, middle-class-friendly membership rates, amazing amenities, and total transparency. Also, I would build the facility as close to homes and apartments as possible to promote walkable neighborhoods. Cancel at any time without fees or hoops, and the gym is designed to where people actually want to keep working out due to an inviting atmosphere to attract people into using the gym equipment, group fitness classes, and swimming laps featuring an all-Panatta fleet of gym equipment. Also, the fact that all members and guests have to put their phones in Yondr pouches every time they check in eliminates all worries of being recorded and posted on social media by others, and promotes a distraction-free environment for more fulfilling and satisfying workouts. The cardio equipment has onboard entertainment to watch your favorite shows without a phone.
ОтветитьI was excited that I joined a gym today. Not anymore. It was only supposed to be $10 a month and $49 every june 1st.
I have no idea what I may have gotten myself into. I lost 200 pounds. I wanted to start living again.
This sucks. Why the heck didn't I watch this first.
Cancelation fees are like $20. Not a big deal. Just cancel if you want to switch gyms or something. The only way it's going to suck up a lot of money is if you are too lazy to cancel and let it keep billing you for years
ОтветитьSounds like you need to hit the gym, bro
ОтветитьBack in the good old days, most gym goers just simply paid on a month to month(monthly) basis. No contracts. Just simply forked out 30 to 35 dollars for a month worth of gym-going. It should've just stayed that way. Contracts and requiring payment by credit card ruined things. I still have memories of that Barn Gym that I went to, way back in 1992, while in my early 20's. Such a different time. Simplicity(No smart-phones), Serenity(Definitive Aspects of simply Escaping from life's hardships), and of course, alluding to my original point, straight forward based gym-goer convenience(No contracts or credit cards involved). So if for whatever reason that gym wasn't exactly you're ideal cup of tea, you just simply moved on, to try another gym, or just lay off gyms for awhile, without any hassles involved.
ОтветитьThis guy is a whiny beach
Ответитьsoy boy complaining about gyms lol
ОтветитьI pay less than $300 per year for membership at one of the big national chains. And as someone who gets in the gym at least 4 times a week if not daily, I think that's a bargain. Most folks will never amass that kind of equipment in their homes., or even have room for anything equivalent. For me, folks need to just walk in the door to get my nod of approval. Just show up. Start light and easy. Make it easy enough that you want to return. And work your way up from there.
ОтветитьHow to find a gym that doesn't suck:
1. Good gyms always have subscriptions that can be cancelled monthly, not yearly.
2. You can come there for a trail exercise without subscribing.
3. You like it there.
I refuse to even consider that fitness is an "industry". It is a state of being or a lifestyle. It does not have to cost anything,
ОтветитьThey are not if you actually go bro 😂 way to over generalize
Ответить
