i really wanna go to meghalaya n settle there ❤😍
ОтветитьIt also happens in my hometown, Minangkabau, west Sumatra
Ответить70% of the khasi people are alcoholic most of them die from alcohol...
ОтветитьI'm khasi too
ОтветитьThis should be stopped
Ответитьtotally wrong translation
Ответитьaccording to khasi society the father is the head of the family and only the children are getting their titles from their mothers. you have to know and learn first before you release a video like this
ОтветитьSad to see how weak and pathetic these "men" are.
ОтветитьI dislike living in a matriarchal society. I know how to run a home, but I hate the pressure that has been placed on me. Domestic violence is rampant.
ОтветитьIt's so interesting to see other matrilinieal culture.
ОтветитьFemales owns the land and men work on them, doesn't make any sense, here in patriarchy men own , men work...
ОтветитьMy type of civilisation. Women must always be the head of the house.
ОтветитьShe said "the tough physical work is for a man to take care of ..." But the translator said "I sell tea n snacks.....i don't earn a lot etc ...." What a shame to tarnish the image of men..in this way...just because in khasi society women has freedom to fend for themselves n their family doesn't mean a man is "financially dependent" on his wife..if that is the case all men would hv been chased out of the women's house.. in fact khasi men has to deal with the pressure of having to work whatever be the case..so that his wife's clan will not look down on him...btw All this happens only in villages....in modern khasi society ... couples are given independence with no family interferance
ОтветитьA matrilineal society is one in which the lineage or ancestry of a society is traced through that of the mother, not to be confused with matriarchy.
ОтветитьBesides owning land and passing of names, many of the women's roles expressed in this video are the same as they were in America up until recently. This includes, cleaning, doing laundry and keeping a respectful home. How some people in the modern world look down on these things I'll never understand
ОтветитьI wish i were born there
ОтветитьAll the "Khar" surnames in Khasi people have close DNA to Assam and Bengal because their first Mother of their Surnames was Dkhar people from neighbor states.
And true fact about matrilineal Society is ,it Create a pool of Genes from nearby environment ,
Since man is Universally the Carrier of seeds.
But Khasi Ladies takes responsibility in carrying surnames .
So what happen is the True seed That men carry with them generation to generation
changes its name every generation,
as the new generation takes the last name from The mother side
So the Seed type remain the same , but the name for the seed and fruit changes every generation.
So , basically in Khasi Society , in example
an Apple tree.
this apple decided to grow in other Location .
So the seed needed to be Planted in new fertile area example in Bhoi.
So what happen is when the tree Grow and start bearing fruits.
These Apple fruits name changes to Bhoi fruit.
now when the next gen decided to grow in Mylliem by carrying the seed there .
this Bhoi fruit becomes Mylliem fruit.
and it goes on and on.
This one apple Tree , will have thousands of name for it, which is way out from the system.
It can create alot of defects when unknowingly two close related seeds mixed together.
They usually become Short , have mental problems like
Cystic fibrosis
Tay Sach’s disease
Autism
Growth Hormone deficiency
Albinism
Sickle cell anaemia.
But in Patrilineal society , takes surnames from father side.
so in this society an apple seed sown anywhere in the world will always be an apple seed.
they will never change name.
So we can tell and trace their ancestors much better.
because if a French man marries a Khasi lady
the kids Dna is close to Father side ancestors as they are responsible carriers of Seeds.
So the kids ancestors belongs in France.
we cant call the Kids as khasi .
Its like calling an Eagle a Pigeon , just because the eagle egg hatch in a Pigeon nest.
An Eagle will always be an eagle, a Pigeon will always be a Pigeon.
no matter what name you change it to.
In Gods words
He has given authority to man , to Protect and bears a special burden of responsibility and accountability for leadership and provision and protection in this relationship.
(Ephesians @–24)
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.
24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
And I think giving the family his name signifies that.
Both man and woman are created in the image of God, but the man bears a special responsibility before God for this union. And that is signified with putting his name on the banner that flies over the family.
That's why I think Matrilineal Society is wrong and against the Lord our God.
They should Stand and change it for the Love of God.
both men and women are freedom here ....
ОтветитьSome way of life. Not a way of life.
ОтветитьNot only Khasi tribe both Khasi and Garo these are the two indigenous tribe from Meghalaya
ОтветитьMy Basque culture is similar. In Spain/France, females are the main inheritors of property and power.
Ответитьi wish the world was like this
Ответитьwow as an Indian i was totally unaware of this fact utill i studied class 12 th sociology book NCERT
i am shocked ...our country is so so so diverse.
Man are not dependant on their wife. 🤦🏿♀️ We are matrilineal yes, but patriarchy.
ОтветитьOkay I'm moving there
ОтветитьI have a daughter and she's a girl. 😂
ОтветитьThere's so much misinformation in this video. The mother isn't the head of the family, we're just matrilineal, we take the name of our mothers. We're not matriarchal. And men are not financially dependent on their wives. Smh
The English translation is nowhere near to what they're saying.
Can we talk about how they slaughtered the translation in this video ?
ОтветитьProud to be a khasi
ОтветитьPatriarchal society is most successful and widespread. Long live patriarchy 😂👏.
ОтветитьWrong translation...
Ответитьwrong notion
DW documentaries.....
I am proud being a Khasi. I love my religion and culture.
ОтветитьLove this video! It helped a lot with an assignment I have. Also, I noticed the brooms they use to sweep are similar to the ones we use in Ghana, and even though we now also have Western brooms with the long sticks that you can use while standing, I still prefer the ones that you have to bend over to use - using it every morning to sweep the house is like yoga and cleaning all in one haha! Plus it's faster and gets into corners and under furniture much better.
ОтветитьA patrilineal society is one in which the lineage or ancestry of a society is traced through that of the father which most of India is but feminists demean India by labeling it as "patriarchy" to suit their narrative. India is a patrilineal society with a gynocentric mindset.
ОтветитьCan you do this documentary for Minangkabau too?
ОтветитьLeftist "woke" DW deliberately mistranslating this video's interviews to serve ultra feminist agenda?
ОтветитьSo pathetic translation.... The khasi women is saying something else and the interpreter is saying something else...
ОтветитьWomen are not the head of the family..they are simply the ones who runs the family in terms of keeping its integrity ,raising the child and also maintaining a home . Mens work hard and earn for their families and they are the ones who usually drive its sustainability.. poor interpretation by dw.. what makes us different is that we inherit our mother's surname.. and girls are usually the ones who inherit the ancestral properties.. and also boys leave their homes when they start a new family but if the girl is not the last sibling or if she is an elder and has younger siblings then the man and the wife usually move out of their homes to build new homes separately on their own..
ОтветитьLove this video why cant we all live like this!!!!
Ответить👍
ОтветитьThe phrase " men are financially dependent on their wives" is not correct.. I'm a khasi n I can confirm this.. and not all men go to their wive's house..every one has a nuclear family.. except if the man marries the youngest daughter ,then he have to go and stay with the girl's family..and the Father is still the head of the family even though the family property is passed on to the women..above that the translation is so bad..
ОтветитьWell matrilineal and matriarchial is a different concept
ОтветитьWhy males living there calling themselves male. They are infact Shemale. 😂
They are dominated by females , shameless, honorless male living there.
Better to die rather than even imagining such a pathetic society.
Such kind of society is a curse for mankind.
Same as ngada in flores, Indonesia
ОтветитьNo Man should depend upon a Woman...
ОтветитьПривет всем аксесникам
Ответитьim lucky that I was not born there.... I think man there was useless and meaningless
Ответить
