I Bought The Rarest MINI Jet Boat (1 of 1200 made)

I sent that to my buddy on marketplace the other day, that exact one 😂

I had a ‘90 jet mate. $4800 new with trailer. Loved it. I should have kept it. Definitely underpowered originally. Ski and tube with it. Great fuel economy. It did fry the the stator in the first year. Also don’t tow it in the water over about 5 mph without a tow valve in the cooling line otherwise water will backflow through the exhaust and into the cylinders.

My dad had a jet mate when I was like 2 he always talked about how fun they were I hope to get my hands on one one day

I noticed the cracks around the engine hatch. That’s from jumping off of waves. I had the same issue. I reinforced it with several layers of glass and resin and no more issues. I also had a stainless impeller but it ventilated badly on hole shots. Sanded and polished the original aluminum impeller and polished the pump housing and it worked better than the SS impeller.

I am not sure what the previous owner thought the blower was used for but it is arguably the most important safety feature on an inboard boat. Without it you take a chance of exploding the boat every time you start it. The blower removes any fuel fumes from the engine compartment that may have built up that can be ignited from a spark generated by the starter, ignition or electrical systems. It's also good practice to remove an engine cover for a few minutes before starting. Also, like all boats on public waters certain equipment is required including life jackets for all on board, a floating throw cushion/ring, boat paddle, horn, and a fire extinguisher. (You may have had these and I didn't notice) Also that boat needs a marine kill switch with wrist lanyard. Check your local requirements. Happy and safe boating with a very fun little boat.

Put that blower back in. The danger you run starting that motor without a blower to remove any fumes is dangerous

Wow thats a cool boat. Here in minnesota the land of lakes and most registered boats oer capita, there's lots of mini boat enthusiasts groups all over the state. I have tons of cool mini boats. But your boat has got to be one the best looking i have ever seen.

Boats are piloted , not driven I am really tired of those who don't know proper navy terms so yeah and also a wharf is not a dock boats dock to wharfs or piers thought i would toss that in for those noob's of boating .

I saw a alloy boat that was smaller then that one , and it was powered bye a 100 HP jet sky engine i was like what and it can only carry the pilot . so yeah that is way to much horse power for such a small craft , my father repaired a 16 foot Silverline the boat got banned off of the lake bye the RCMP for having to many horses for a inboard outboard it had a 150 horse power chevy engine , that little boat could do in car miles 180 MPH with a massive rooster tale all that could be seen was the bow of the boat , after the boat got banned it was sold .

Man that thing will still move out, with 3 of you big boys in it too! Only one thing though, I know it probably ain't mandatory but should be a necessity, meaning everyone on board should have some kind of flotation device on, if nothing else, for peace of mind, doesn't matter if everyone knows how to swim like Tarzan, still should have a flotation device, PFD, whatever they are , especially when that thing is moving, probably all the time but mainly when it's moving, just saying fellars......

There is a huge reason they only sold a few. And they are only goid for 1 thing a very calm lake. Dont try to go where there are waves. You even need to be careful of large boat wake. On those . They are "neat" and cool because they are small.
