If this is what you are counting on in an emergency you are going to die.

Put an IKEA pencil inside it, instead. You can shave it down, to be more narrow.

So.most of it is gimmicky junk especially for that price tag. For the same cost I could go to a dollar store and make a better kit 😂 and that's with paying the middleman's consumer costs companies don't. Sheesh, they really could do better for that price.

It would have been funny if Lily opened the tin can and it was full of yummy sardines.

Can of food will help you more to survive then that can of garbage i would love to see someone survive from that can of garbage

In my experience these are not survival kits. They are cheap and are great supplements to a survival pack because they contain many little items often overlooked but they lack even the most basic items such as a space blanket or decent cutting tool.

IF THERE'S NO SPACE BLANK PROVIDED IN THIS KIT, I'D SAVE MY MONEY FOR SOMETHING ELSE

Is it even possible to get lost in France? Are there remote places in france miles away from the nearest person? Countries like the US and Canada, they are so huge that it’s quite possible to be tens of miles from the nearest person.

Yea, water proof until opened. Although, plastic zip lock bag included is for putting all contents in it, which is sort of water resistant.

Whoa...Hold on there folks to your spatulas lol ....Start first with a good quality tin box with preferably shiny metal on the inner side of lid...FOR SIGNALLING PLANES , PEOPLE etc.. Next fill it with your standard survival items that will suit your needs in an emergency... Create your very own survival tins for around $10 -$15 CDN Boy Scouts !

The shame I would fell for even calling that so called survival kit a survival kit cancels the better than nothing .

"Survival kit's" as a concept are designed for surviving combat zones in extreme circumstances. They are worthless for hiking and camping. Just carry good gear that you know how to use.

I would keep the can as it could be used as a makeshift pot to boil small amounts of water to purify it. I t won't hold much water but better then drinking unboiled water!!

Also if the can was swapped out as you suggest at the end I would also suggest swapping out the matches for a fire striker kit as it would last alot longer and be more reliable getting fires started then matches would. The one I have is small enough to fit into the bigger can or even in the smaller can though it might be a tight fit in the smaller one with all the other items but would be far more valuable as a survival tool then the matches.

Additional uses: patch a tarp with duck tape, keep the tin in the bag after opening it, can shave with cutting tool, water proof matches with wax from the candle, use cordage for perimeter alarm, multi tool has a can opener, The question for me is: can this save your life? I think definitely yes! Great for beginners and easy to carry for emergency situations.

but i have learned that when a compass has air bubbles in it,
its useless because the air influences the direction the compass is pointing if "tilted".
Nevertheless - i will get one of these boxes and try to make a 24h "Training" with it.

The nails can be used to make a gig/ spear for fishing and small animals.

Save the top of the can for a cutting/scraping tool, or pieces could be used for fishing.
Maybe an arrow head.

Is it the best survival kit?…No…but it’s better than nothing. I think a resourceful person can find a use for everything in that tin. the pencil design lends itself to being a sewing or knitting needle. A flashlight is a luxury and not essential for survival. The duct tape can be used for first aid to protect minor wounds, especially on the hands.

I think the pencil clip could be used to hold the razor blade to form something resembling a knife.

The error in the button compass is in the printing alignment around the edge. The magnet is going to be as reliable as any other magnet. If you can remember by how much it is off it is still perfectly usable. This is an issue with all the "button" style compasses, the printing needs to be precisely aligned with the magnet or it will be off. The needle style doesn't have that vulnerability.

Water homogenizing, plastic quart freezer bags and a WAPI. Completely reusable, no residue. Very small and lightweight.
