It sounds like most making comments here, are within a few years of me, in terms of age (born in 1973). Off topic, on topic, if anybody has the music from the show Boomerang with Marni Nixon, especially the Goodbye song, that would be great to upload! (Bing bong bang is Boomerang!)
ОтветитьI was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Japanese-American. Male. I first learned this in kindergarten. I remember the "Loo pa pa pa" part! I had this song in my mind, when my Mom walked with me on the South side of Volunteer Park, South of the reservoir, and on 12th Avenue East.

ОтветитьI wasn't in kindergarten when I heard this, but I was in the 2nd grade, and I remember when our elementary school decided to do a little something different. They decided to take 2 months out of the school year and let us change classes and do other learning activities with other teachers. We went to my old kindergarten teachers class (which I love her so very much) and she played this song on an old record player just as she played other songs on the same one when I had her in kindergarten back in 1995. We also played with little toy instruments to the beat. It was so fun. It wasn't long after she retired and she's still living and is in her 80s , but I haven't seen her in a very long time and would absolutely love to. I'll be 31 in August. It's been 25 years now since kindergarten. It sure doesn't seem like it. How I long for the days of my childhood. Why did we ever want to become adults? Lol
ОтветитьIn general I'm not a fan of children's songs,,,but song stands on its own in any genre...it's lovely...reminds when I was young and taught with Head Start
ОтветитьI like the catchy song and lyrics are easy to sing, best part was my son singing along with me and enjoying the song :)
ОтветитьInnocent, naive, sweet & just so lovely to sing along to.. the type of song to sing along to on a communal basis
