I wish my father had been more involved with helping me through this point in my life. I'm 24 now. If and when i do have children, I intend to help guide them through all their stages of life for as long as i'm around.

My nephew was told me his nipples were sore. I didn't think it was a puberty thing. I don't think I had that symptom. Luckily he is open with me about his body and asks questions but he has challenged me a few times. Lol. And I think he is erect like 18 hours a day... Lol

My son is only 3, so I have many years before I have this conversation. But I have no idea what boys go through when it comes to puberty apart from the voice deepening, acne and “manly body” and I want to be super ready before the time comes. Instead of waiting until he is already going through these changes to research.

Three things have changed since decades ago. One is that kids have a LOT more information, which is GOOD, except it has a lot of boys very impatient for when things are going to happen. For example, a lot of boys are eager to be able to shoot but get frustrated when nothing comes out.

The second big thing that has changed is just about every boy is unfortunately exposed to porn, which puts misinformation into their heads.

The third big thing is that boys don't shower or change for PE any more so they don't get to see that there's a wide range of puberty in their age group and there's nothing unusual about where they are.

The best remedy an open forum for asking questions and talking about these things. It's great that you interact directly in the Comments section rather than just letting it go for whomever to post whatever and for questions to go unanswered.
