Hey Midwinter, do you think this style can be used for a whole space marine army, namely the one of the Leviathan set? Certainly there will be differences depending in the model, but do you think it's a good idea to use these colors and techniques as a base for all models? By the way, after using Vallejo Medium Blue, and having a bit more practice, it turned out great, thanks for the tutorial!
ОтветитьIts been 43 years since I painted a model and decided to paint WH figures. Your video has been really helpful. I will be trying this soon. Thanks
ОтветитьAnyone really had luck with Citadel Calgar Blue? For me using the named Citadel colors it looks quite different, more like baby blue, and honestly quite shitty, following the instructions.
ОтветитьI just cant paint the chest-eagle when there is a gun in front
ОтветитьHi what blue did you use ? Thank you
Ответитьgreat job
ОтветитьJust copied this for my first ever 40k mini! Admittedly took over 4 hours to do and looks very different to yours but still came out amazing. Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьI wish i had these vids in 2005 when I was a teen just getting started in 40k
ОтветитьThe dirt on the boots alone makes it look so much more realistic, incredible
ОтветитьI can NOT imagine doing this for hundreds of pieces. It's such a powerful gate from keeping my from entering into the hobby, alongside the price of entry (which would be higher if I wanted prepainted units).
ОтветитьI am going to go pick up some more paints and some sponge and give this a shot!
ОтветитьTried the paint, wash, sponge technique on an Imperial fist, and I really love it. Thanks for making this
ОтветитьCan someone recommend a rough ratio like 1:3 or so?
ОтветитьCan you make a tutorial and/or suggestion about how to apply this technique to vehicles? I don't think the process can be repeated and applied equally; I mean, large panels, less recesses, more flat surfaces and so on...the sponging technique, for example, does it also work on vehicles?
ОтветитьThat do be looking swank
Ответитьok
ОтветитьWow this looks amazing! It's one of the best artwork tan I've seen
Ответитьgotta make this for other chapters.
Ответитьyour speedpainting is 10X better than my detail painting fml lol
ОтветитьVery nice
ОтветитьI think the Ultramarines blue is closer to French ultramarine blue.
Ответитьthe sponge for texture is an amazing tip...I use it on Knights, but it never even occurred to me to use it on a small mini.
ОтветитьReally good video :)
Even if for me a "speed painting" is less than 20min per minis, especially when it's a troop ^^'
What this man did in 23 mins took me 2 hrs and mine looks worse sigh
ОтветитьI wonder... with Space Marine 2 coming out soon, would you be willing to revisit this and make the main character using only GW parts? (Specifically the part where he's locked in combat with the Warrior)
ОтветитьI always struggle to paint, as I want everything to look "seamless". However, I am embracing the rugged battle worn look and my ultramarines came out looking great thanks to you! not mirror copies but similar look.
ОтветитьI like to cheat with pouches, and assume that 40,000 years in the future they'll be able to make blue pouches. 😉
This dude looks great though, I love textured painterly models like this far more than the blended sterile "plasticky renders" that make up golden demon... kinda ironic really. 😐
I just started this hobby a couple days ago and I have been looking at videos constantly to help myself improve. Little did I know, the most helpful video I could find was a SPEED PAINTING video. Subscriber well earned, and thank you for these amazing tips 👏
ОтветитьThis looks amazing, well done!
ОтветитьThanks for the video! But I'm a little confused by the separation of the instructions and colors. Are the paints of each color listed in order of use?
Thanks again.
Can anyone tell me which texture paint he's using on the base?
Ответитьthis looks amazing!
ОтветитьI beat warhammer 40k space marines on hard mode for an extra challenge & wanted to know how to paint my space marines like in the game so this was helpful
ОтветитьThis video has 40K upvotes. Coincidence? I think not!
ОтветитьIf ever you think to you self “do people like my little jokes I say here and there, should I keep doing them?” The answer is a resounding YES. Great video.
ОтветитьA bit late to the party, but loving the content
ОтветитьGood
ОтветитьThis helped me so much. Thank you. I've watched probably 50 videos on how to paint Space Marines, and yours was the first one I could wrap my head around. The others lost me when they listed a laundry list of Citadel paints. Poorhammer forever!
Ответитьspeedpaining by a pro
is like best effort for a beginner :D but great tips
It wasn't Macragge Blue. Thousand Sons Blue?
ОтветитьThanks. I used to be into painting miniatures when I was a kid and wasn't great, I never got any advice from anyone regarding painting. I'm twenty five now and I'm considering getting back into this hobby x
ОтветитьHonestly, he looked amazing while just being primed and being airbrushed white. Great job
ОтветитьCuanto mide la miniatura?
ОтветитьLooks awesome and a good tutorial ;-) Need to repaint my paintjobs with revel colours when i was 14 on my StarCraft (SpaceCrusade) board game :-)
Primer should work, won’t it?
The video that made me paint my first mini. It's still very helpful as all your other painting videos. Thanks Guy.
Ответитьall these videos I just end up saying holy shit and then calling you a bitch because im so jealous
ОтветитьThat was really helpful thank you, I’m just getting into this with my son and he loves the space marines.
ОтветитьJust wondering, what type of blue did you use at the start? Btw great tutorial.
ОтветитьSpeed Dating Ultramarines
ОтветитьTook him long enough to make a space marine.
