Google Assistant Routines: A How-To Guide

I just want my assistant to read a custom to-do list step-by-step, the way it reads like a recipe, checking in to see if the previous step is completed at each step... why is it so hard?!

Bixby Routines is way better. Not sure why Google is so far behind with routines.

Google assistant routines on the phone only works if you say something to activate it.
the timed/ automated start only works if you have an external speaker for some reason, it forgets the phone has speakers. Utterly useless for anyone who needs to automate their daily routine with just their phone.

I have set up a few scenes in google home using my iphone but they dont trigger for some reason, any ideas? All wifi devices so no hub.

i use IOS 16.1 on an Iphone 12 but none of the screens look the same as your video and i cannot figure out how to create or edit any of the routines.

How long did it take before you got tired of Google saying all that stuff before you clean

There is no option to delete a routine. Why is the trash icon not there? Why is this so difficult???

WHAT if i only want the routine to trigger in a especific time, for example bed time I want it to begine at 11 pm but I dont want to say every time "ok google, bed time"

hello, so i just started with google home. can you help me? i get how to use the routines, but the thing is it wont do the routines i set it up with. how come? and if i just use regular GA it would do the action.

2nd. my GA seems different than yours, maybe its updated already and thus the error?

My routines fail to continue as soon as it launches a full screen app such as Google maps. Bloody useles.

Example routine called bed time,
Google does:
Turn off livingroom lights
Set lights scene bedroom on
Turn thermostat to eco
Start roomba to clean.
What i want in this routine is that google asks me if she must start the roomba. Do u know how?

Great video. I have what I think is a simple question, but I can't find an answer. I want a routine that sets all of my volumes (Ringtone, Notification, Media, System) to a specific %. For example. I'm getting to work and want to turn all of my volumes down to 5%. I have been able to set almost all of them without issue, but the notification volume is the elusive setting. I have a Samsung S21 and there is even a preset command called "Set Volume" with the description Ringer and Notification Volume. But it does not affect the notification volume at all. Thanks for your advice.

Nice work. But I am struggling with a routine. I can set a routine to open Spotify and play some music, but how can I then have the routine also play this music on a specific speaker, which is not a Google one, but does show up in the menu of Spotify?

Hi thanks for your helpful video. I just got the newest chromecast GoogleTV device and I use it on a Samsung SmartTV. Question: if I buy the Samsung HW-Q950T Soundbar system set, would I be able to group that surround speaker set using Google Home in combo with Nest and Nest mini.

Also, 2nd question. Can I play one thing on the TV + surround system but a family member can play something separate on a different speaker group in another section of the house?
