I’d argue Kabuto is the best senjutsu user as he’s been in Sage mode for almost 20 years straight

Something else people fail to realize with Jiraiya getting caught off guard….Fukasaku and Shima are both perfect sages. They TEACH that shit. And yet they didn’t sense Pain sneak up either. So either it’s an ability that was retconned for Naruto to have later, or sage sensing has to be active by the user(it’s not a passive ability).

Also, Hagoromo didn’t give Naruto a better sage mode. He literally just gave him his Ootsutsuki chakra which enhanced his sage mode. He still had toad sage mode. It was even shown later in the show that Hagoromo learned the sage exact toad sage mode from Mt. myoboku. Even though that was technically filler.

How do you even believe he wouldn't have sage mode? Like that shouldn't even be a question

They aren't the strongest users of the technique by any means, but to me Kabuto and Jiraiya will always be the mascots of Sage Mode. They both have so many techniques and cool applications of the unique buffs that Sage Mode gives in a way that the other characters don't really need to take advantage of.

Another reason pain may have been able to sneak up on jiraiya is possibly bc the paths of pain were technically dead bodies. With him assuming the fight was over and the paths of pain are probably harder to sense all around, even for sensory type ninja.

Sage mode is a skill. If he lost kurama he wouldn’t lose the skill to use sage mode.

You were pretty dumb to think Naruto would be unable to use sage mode when his chakra level is naturally 2x more abundant than most people. Did you forget Naruto is half Uzumaki who are known for having abnormal chakra?

I feel like sage mode was much more interesting before it was ret-conned into a generic power up; back when they had to sit still to gather nature energy. It required prep time, and couldn't be maintained in combat without the help of a sage creature. Naruto was physically unable to use it the way it was intended, but through his own ingenuity found a limited work around that actually felt earned. It used to be a powerful tool that needed to be used strategically because of it's limitations, now it's devolved into a generic buff that people activate whenever it's convenient.

I personally think Hashi Rama got his sage mode from listening to the trees because they are one with nature energy they should theoretically be able to absorb it for him now this is making a small leap because we do not know if the trees are conscience but I feel like him having Sage mode based around wood style and none of the summonings from the forest at least that we know of Drawl me to the conclusion of him getting it from the trees

Minato was able to get a perfect sage whilst he was still alive (he says he's not that good, but i'd chalk that up to how long he can maintain it for).
even without being jinchuriki, it stands to reason that Naruto and Minato would have relative base chakra reserves in their prime, with the possibility of Narutos being larger due to his Uzumaki genes, though I don't recall who factually has the larger base chakra reserves, considering Naruto has extra Kurama chakra for all his life until recently.
I'm assuming that chakra reserves and such can be genetic, with clans like the Senju, Uchiha and Uzumaki all having absurdly high chakra reserves across multiple members.
As such, it wasn't really any surprise, for me at least, to see Naruto using sage mode recently. The guy's gotta use whatever tricks he has left, ya know

I just thought you meant Naruto didn't have access to Six Paths after losing Kurama because he was his only link to the other Bijuu and his transformation was based off of Kurama directly.

I think naruto still has six paths sage mode but it might be a little more exhausting to use after he lost kurama or he could be training his normal sage mode in order to increase the affects of this one

I believe that the reason hashirama's eyes don't change is simply because it was shown so early in the series, that it was probably intended to be a hashirama exclusive ability, rather than a sage more transformation.

Hashirama just has sage mode I don’t think it’s connected to any sage creature but more like an inherit thing that senju have sorta like an affinity or connection with nature also giving him access to wood style.

Explains why his DNA is still sought after even in boruto he created his own sage mode.
