I can't lie, when I first saw the F-15 as a kid, I already concluded that this would be my most favorite aircraft ever, with the F-18 and F-22 coming in HARD second place. Everything from the design, to the armaments, and its kill to death ratio, just making this Jet fighter seem like one of the best fighters ever made, and we have the Russians, to thanks for it(technically the Soviet Union but whatever)

Personally, I think that the F-15E would be far superior to the F Dash 35, because not only would have some stealth ability, but it would also be able to compete in a dogfight.

I have to ask: does it matter how large a radar cross-section is as long as the radar can tell it's big enough to be a plane? I'm honestly not sure whether radar finds it easier to detect objects with a larger radar cross-section (but not larger physical size) from further away, but even that question doesn't change the fundamental context. The reality is that as long as your plane's cross-section doesn't fit below that radar threshold for stealth - where the radar can't tell if an object is a plane or not - then it doesn't count as stealth anyway, and it doesn't matter how large the cross-section is (well, at least as long as it's not ridiculously large - there might be a limit determined by the detection capacity of radar).

But what cross-section size would all these stealthy improvements have gained the silent eagle? It's not mentioned. Makes it hard to say whether it was a good idea.

The problem with relying on paint to almost completely improve a craft's stealthiness is that it is really expensive (well, last time I heard, but my info could be out of date), and there has to be a good reason to use it. If you're going to only improve a craft's radar cross-section from "terrible" to "okay", then what are you really gaining when you could use it to make a different craft with a small cross-section properly "stealth."

Also, sacrificing the fuel tanks sounds possibly problematic, so how much fuel capacity would have been lost and what would the new range have been?

You cannot make a F-15 have stealth, it is not possible because it wasn't properly designed for that. So this title is clickbait.

In the Israeli Air Force the F-15 is upgraded in some versions from late 70s & early 80s will serve till 2040 - 60 years in service.
That means that the F-15 EX could serve till next century!! Which is leading to an extraordinary record of more than 130 years of service!!

Some of the features of the Silent Eagle like the canted tails might have gave the F-15EX improved maneuverability, range and loiter time.

Fuck the F-15, long live the F-22, the TRUE king of the skies! Even the F-35 is WAY superior to the aging F-15, no matter how many forced jury-rig "upgrades" they try to improvise.
Why the military keeps the F-15 in life support to prolong its life a bit while they cancel the ñeoduction of F-22s was a stupid motherfucking decision.
