My Tips for Bible Teachers

Im an analytical explainer, and im told that i i should know my audience and so i should dumb myself down im sorry this really irritates me they say because im intimidating saints and thats not my intention but it feels like im being shamed for my gift.

Your basically teaching Charlie Campbell book on teaching Awesomeness! He dosen't have it on audible so this helps tremendously.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 is really important. Alot of people have been annoyed with me for applying this verse. They would rather me use my own words. It's odd to me they would rather accept the words of a mere human over the words of the perfect and Holy God that created Everything.

In Jeremiah, God Himself says that His people will be speaking His Word. Not their thoughts about, feelings on or stories and jokes. I was shocked when I was saved, and came out of the organized church's, and just read the Word of God for myself, line upon line, precept after 'full thought pattern', exactly like it is written. That is what changed my life forever. Read it and believe it enough to actually 'do' it. It will transform your life. There is actual 'power' in God's Word. Our Bible studies should be....what does God say only. Not what we think or feel, or what other people say. Have a blessed day all.

John MacArthur has really wondered. He dwells on reformed Calvinism theology in almost every lesson now. 😢 And his abuse of child and women is not fruit of the Spirit! Nor his standing behind the abuser in prison, supporting in word and money while never helping or even apologizing to the family that John horribly wrongly called out in public is horrible.

I love listening to the audio Bible, too! The Word of Promise is my favorite due to the production quality, and I can listen in my car for hours on a trip, hearing and becoming beautifully familiar with God's Word - so edifying, so uplifting, and so sanctifying. Nothing brings on the Holy Spirit like being in the Word of God.

Your ministry has really blessed me. Not only have you inspired me to go back to school with a goal to work in youth ministry but recently I have been worried about how to teach and if I could do it and the tips here definitely have put my mind as ease and I feel confident and excited for the future and God’s plan for my life.

Hey Mike...I love your videos and I appreciate very much your knowledge and wisdom in teaching the Word of God. I have also been a Bible teacher for many years, but I don't get into the depth of study that you do. I tend to teach more as a means of helping people to learn to apply the Word to their personal lives or for life application so that people will learn to be obedient to His Word. Thanks for your dedication to the Word of God. God bless you Brother.

Mike, question about your cat. Does it know which side of the door it wants on or is it like my cat, that can never decide which side of the door it wants on as in...inside-outside, outside-inside, insi...you get the picture, right? I seen that on a Veterinarian sign board. LOL 😆.

Brother Winger I don't think that you're wrong for expository preaching. The early church didn't have a close canon and they sometimes did have only one copy and they just read through the word of God. How much better do we have that we have the whole thing.

Its easy, just dont try to match the bible to real proven history and you will be ok. You dont want people to know that the Egyptians, indus valley civilization, and Mesopotamia civilization all lived during the year the Noah flood happened.
And dont teach math or human anatomy because in the 100 years after the Noah flood 8 people became over 150 people at the tower of babel and 900 years later Moses had over 2 million people just in Egypt. There is no way for 8 people to multiple that fast unless every female had non-stop pregnancies starting at age 7.

Always let the Bible be the focus and let it shine. Mike, you do a great job of this. Every time we go to scripture is like going into a mine filled with gems and gold just waiting to be chiseled out. Wisdom scattered everywhere if we just look and pick it up.

My tip for bible teachers? Stop selling the book with the donkey for a living and get an honest job. How about used car dealer? ;-)

I hate it when preachers or authors start a story and make you wait until later for the end!
If it's a book, I usually skip through until I find the end of the story, read it, then go back and read from where I was. Can't do it with preaching, though! 🙁🙁

Question 🙋🏾‍♀️ I’m a woman’s Bible study teacher And each year we teach through a book of the Bible verse by verse. This year is Matthew so sometimes my weekly passage ranges from 30 to 60 versus. This is also my first year as a teaching leader! When you say don’t use commentaries initially what do you mean logistically like what is that process? Especially having to go through 30 to 60 versus weekly! Thanks for any insight.

The single BEST sentence I’ve heard in a long TIME “ you don’t get to lower the standard just because you don’t meet the standard!” Wow 😮 that will preach and teach ALOT of us especially in today’s culture and society moral standard!

Judging by videos about other denominations and beliefs his main technique seems to be to discredit everybody else who is teaching the bible who is not himself. ;-)

Mike, could you give you guidance on 'logos software' - meaning which package would you recommend as well as additional books for hebrew and greek word studies?

If you are teaching a passage or a verse, and there is a word in that verse or passage that suggests more than one meaning, then teach that whole realm of doctrine. For example, if the word "prayer" is in that verse or passage then teach "The Doctrine of Prayer."

This video (and all of the videos from this ministry) has been immensely helpful to me... I've watched this multiple times and I have every teacher watch it when they join the teaching ministry in our church. One of the teachers said it was really good and a rehash of Bible College.
