Green is the used color because of how cameras work, they have double the sensors in the green channel (because our eyes are more kin to green due to nature), it is also if I'm not mistaken the most far color from our skin tone, blue is often used when you need to film something that is darker because blue spills less than green :)

Finally made a green screen one! My man!
