The lack of education regarding climate change, respect for nature and animals in general in japan is absolutely terrifying in such a well developed land. It just reminds me of how doomed we are considering other things like reactivating Fukushima and flooding the ocean with old fuel rods that are "clean" as the japanese government has stated. I moved out from Japan 2004 and live in Europe, I do love being in Japan and the culture in many aspects for vacation, but it's rigid social structures are definetely hindering them in moving into the right direction

I've been there because a friend took me there, but I said I could not do this. The birds are slave working in a room only with artificial light bound on a platform and get petted all day and have no flight possibilities. This absolute animal abuse and should be banned world wide. The owner's are disrespectful unempathic creatures, I feel disappointed, disheartened and ashamed to say the least to belong to the same species.

To anyone with even a minute understanding of birds and nature these cafes are idiotic, expensive and cruel. Many of these birds have been supplied by dubious often illegal suppliers in Asia, Europe and the states. To stroke a beautiful clipped and tied down bird for entertainment ; we do it to our own species too, sex trafficking, child and labour trafficking so why not bird trafficking. 1650 yen plus a drink do you have bakka stamped on your forehead? This is interesting and cute only to someone lacking in understanding and perception. The wakaranai, shirimasuen nation.

yeah this is not ok at all... even my untrained eye can see these bird have tics and are bored out of their mind.. If they really cared about the birds they would be free to fly in, at the very least, large aviaries...

Keeping a bird in the cage or chained who is actually meant to fly and be free is a SIN.
And maybe these people are doing business out of their prisonment, they're still sinners. Because a golden cage will still be a cage.

This place is no better than a zoo - even worse, since it forces the animals to be touched by humans all the time.

We have several cat cafes in my city. The cats are in a separate room and are available to rescue. I got my cat from the one by my house.
