Police are idiots. If a vigilante takes a pedophile out, it saves taxpayer money, no wasting time in courts, no dealing with judges who have to deal with a rigged, criminal Justice system, etc etc.

It would be more interesting, if he moved his operation to Washington DC, to see who shows up. I don't think police are actually against the guy but want to make a statement in case things go south on one of these "stings" so they don't get sued for knowing about it and not saying anything about it. People sue anybody and everybody anymore in the US and weak juries provide huge settlements based off of their emotions.

Criminal rights have many times caused the gears of justice to grind to a halt. With the hands of law enforcement being tied (stop, question, search etc.) people are being forced to forget 911 and handle it themselves. (personal experience)
