New Supreme Court gun law gives gun owners more freedoms in Hawaii

Before even watching the vid - As I understand things from "the buzz" I get in my various sources - while it's true that the case got GVR-ed, it's NOT true that means "We Won" - YET They Granted cert, so it's gonna be heard next session, assuming there's anything left to decide, since they're ALSO saying to the lower court - the 9th Circus - "In light of recent developments, (NYSRPA v. Bruen) your decision as it got to us is wrong. So it's Vacated (AKA dismissed, never happened). We Remand back to you to re-try it using the text/history/tradition test, not "intermediate scrutiny" or two-step "means" tests. 

If true, and it seems more and more likely to me that it is, this is an EXCELLENT development, and I believe that ultimately, it will be found that they can't deny a right guaranteed by the constitution. The prohibition "shall not be infringed" is a restriction on the GOVERNMENT'S legitimacy in making any law that infringes on that guaranteed RIGHT of "The People" - which to me appears to deprive it (government) of any say in the matter. *BUT*, while I think this is very much a correct thing, it hasn't yet had time to be re-decided, so nothing has actually changed. OK - having said that... <watching>

While it does indeed pave the way for more people being legal while packing heat, which, if it wasn't clear enough above, I fully support, the decision HAS NOT YET been made, either by the lower court (the infamous 9th Circus) or the Supremes, should it still need to be decided by the time they get to it next session.

No they didn't they already have all the fun freedoms there can be with the 2a anything else is infringement and the so called laws are Null and Void do not comply silence is consent. The Constitution is the Supreme Law of this Land stand on it quit complying dammit!

There is a lot of reasons why gun laws was never an issue in Hawaii. From the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom to World War II and the migration of the far east, the passive nature of the aboriginal people and love of the land to welcoming of visitors and the diversification of the island economy, tourism. That was then, this is now. With population growth and dwindling of natural resource, people now are demanding and competing for everything. Guns in Hawaii, paradise no more.😔

Hawii isn't being forced to do anything except honor the Constitution. The second amendment was put into the Constitution to give the Federal Government authority to protect our right to keep and bear arms. All US Citizens have this right, a God given right and the reason the militia clause is in the second amendment is to let the Federal Government that is they become tyrannical and as in the state of Hawaii, ignore the Constitution, the citizen have the right to replace the government with one that will honor the Constitution.

Is this a serious news channel? SCOTUS doesn't make laws. If you weren't a communist hack, you'd know that, or at least report the news honestly. Politicians in Hawaii passed an unconstitutional law to take a basic freedom away from the people. It took many years, presumably a ton of money, and just enough honest judges to give that freedom back to the people of Hawaii. Most people when they start legally carrying, have a deep feeling of responsibility. I soon found myself de-escalating situations, even when a wild animal was threatening our dog, and my wife was screaming at me to shoot it, I knew that would be irresponsible on a city street. Law abiding gun owners are not the problem, they are the answer.

Every State that has enacted non discretionary conceal and carry legislation since 1987 when Florida did so, has experienced an immedicate drop in violent crime according to FBI crime statistics. That's about 40 States. 20 of them have since gone further to enact "Constitutional Carry" and do not require a permit to carry open or concealed. I am confident that Hawaii's crime rate will also fall if a non discretionary program is enacted here. The gut level reaction of expecting crime rates to rise from conceal carry has not panned out. Hawaii should follow the programs from already successful states with safe efficient programs like Florida or Utah. It should be like a Driver's License that confirms that applicant knows applicable law, demonstrates that he can drive or handle the firearm safely and lawfully. Once demonstrated, the license should be approved. This has reduced violent crime in 40 out of 40 States that have done so. It will be the same for Hawaii.

If we can legally own a firearm we should be able to carry it. Not hard to figure.

Still...HPD has not granted permits. They are dragging their feets cause they have no idea what to do once they start. However, they have put everything on hold.
