Novablast 4... the absolute worst shoe for me... and i really wanted it to work. Feet on fire 🔥!
ОтветитьCould You explain how did you meassure your foot? Thanks man...
ОтветитьI dont get it….hoka to me is longer than asics and saucony….us 9 in hoka and 9 1/2 in asics 🧐
ОтветитьHello sir, i purchased liberate nitro by puma few days back after watching your liberate nitro review and the shoes are awesome. Thankyou. I wear UK 11 size for my regular workout shoes like nike metcons etc. However for puma liberate ,I ordered same size but the gap between my toe and the tip of the shoe is 2.2/2.3 cms, am I feeling them too long because they are thin shoes as compared to other shoes ? I ran 10 km with it and it was fine . My feet had a secure fit. I cannot buy size 10.5 as we dont have .5 sizes in india. and size 10 will be a snug fit may be with a gap of 1 cm i guess or even less . Kindly advise should i keep this size or return it back ? and , 2.2/2.3 cm gap is fine for a running shoe ?
Ответитьfinally saw this video, a big help as my size is the same as yours, and has help me order the right size shoes online, much thanks
ОтветитьYep my new Pro three's just too tight. Have had many Saucony models from Kinvars to Speeds an Pro 2 all 11.5 US no probs...till the Pro 3's back they went:)
ОтветитьWhy can't there be just one standard size for all shoes? With Nike running shoes, i'm always 10.5 US. Just recently i bought Adizero RC 3 for my speed sessions, and the 10.5 US feels like a size 10, and i should've gone 11 US. The 10.5 fits me, but at the toe area, there's just about a half inch width. With the 10.5 US Pegasus, i got an inch of space, and it fits me perfect.
ОтветитьAmazing Reference video!
ОтветитьI can not understand what indicates the length in cm that Asics writes on the shoes? The length they write is always 0.5 cm shorter than the actual length of the insole.
For example, Brooks insoles that are 29cm are identical in length to Asics 28.5cm...
LIKE 👍
ОтветитьPicked up the Rebel 2 a half size up, thanks for the recommendations! Great video :)
ОтветитьQD regarding nike next %: is there a compromise in your choice of sizing up?
Like a heel lock or feet play?
Or is it now perfect (with a half size up)?
Same issue in my house, I'm between sizes. And I wonder about keeping the smaller pair (what will likely exclude long races)?
Getting another pair looks like an expensive idea 💡😅
New Balance certainly fluctuate in size. I've just worn out my 1080 v10 in a size 9 and have been great for 500 miles. Had my size 9 1080 V11 arrive today only to quickly realise they were way too small, big toe touching the end! I now need to go for a size 10 and inconveniently return the size 9 😂
ОтветитьI've found the SL20 (11.5 US, TTS) to be extremely narrow though the midfoot. The plastic heel/arch support rubbed my arches raw after a 4 mile run. I couldn't find any reviews that mentioned this issue, so I went to get measured.
I was scanned at about 28 cm in length, and 11 mm width. The shop told me that should be an 11.5 US standard width, but most shoes feel very tight across the inside edge of my foot, from heel to toe.
Does anyone have a width recommendation for my 28x11 cm feet? Was the shop wrong? Eddbud is at 10 cm with a slightly longer foot, so maybe I should be in a wide size.
Is their a difference between mens and women’s shoes in Nike? As they seem the same. Sometimes i can only get them in woman’s as mens sells out quick. More specific vaporfly next% 2.
ОтветитьThis is very interesting. I have Adidas, NB, Hoka and reebok. I buy all my shoes in Eu 44 (us 10/uk 9.5). I bought a pair of NB at EU 44.5 and after 20 runs the fabric ripped in the heel due to heel slippage. I never size up or down and all the shoes fit well Reeboks sizing is different btw, eu 44 is a us 10.5
Ответитьare you wearing a smaller size in your street shoes? e.g. in adidas or nike
ОтветитьGreat video with all the information i was looking for. Personally I have trouble with Adidas shoes I usually wear a US size 10 but I wish I could have gone half size down in the Adizero Adios Pro.
ОтветитьHey Beast master and eddbud no freg beast say, aka CRESPEN GRECO here 🤡☕☕👌. Calisthenics shoulder workout plus An double expresso coffee 5k , how's the global pandemic ober there ???
ОтветитьTransformer Man, tracked you down on a popular music streaming service! Reminds me of early prodigy.....I like it.
Enjoy the videos btw. Keep up the good work 👍
And it all goes to show we need to get back in those running shoe shops/stores and try 'em first. Just like when your mum used to take you to Clarks for your new school shoes.
ОтветитьAbsolutely a minefield: I have 1 foot that’s 8.5 and the other 9.5. How can sizes be so different every manufacturer has a different stand size. An example Adidas UK 9.5 is 27.1 cm, Hoka 28cm, Saucony 28.5 cm in length.and that’s before you start on the variance on the model (like the SL20) and width. It’s been costly to work out what works and doesn’t . Great content to bring this to the community ..thanks edd!
Ответить@eddbudd how much room do you think is needed between the big toe and end of toe box for best performance? On the carbon plated shoes that is! Cheers
ОтветитьI usually order 2 sizes when getting a shoe a haven't tried on. It's so annoying to have to wait
ОтветитьLove the music mate. Right up my street. I use to play a lot of breaks way back (still got all on vinyl), stuff like Elite Force, Rennie Pilgrim, Plump DJs, Meat Katie, Evil Nine etc....
ОтветитьReally appreciate this vid. It helps interpret your reviews. My feet are a tad wider than yours yet I am an EU 43/44 in walking footwear. Fair to say I should steer clear of the NB Rebel 2.
ОтветитьI often don’t understand what people mean when they say “true to size”, because sizing in different shoes is variable.
As a rule, I go by cm size, not by my shoe size. That way I tend to get it right the first time, the only problem is with sizes that are “2/3”, which makes no sense and tend to be smaller more often than not.
In Nike and Reebok for me are “true to size”, if I size up in Nike they’re way too big.
I’ve learned with Adidas shoes, for “normal” trainers, I opt for my shoe size. For running, go up half a size (learned this lesson with my first running Adidas). For faster/race shoes, I’d go up a full size, unless you like them really snug. Credit to Adidas, they do say on their website “go up a size” or similar, but I don’t think any of the other brands do the same. I also go up half size with Saucony, Asics and Brooks, and never had a problem with the latter.
I find Hoka sizing to be inconsistent. The Carbon X1 was true to size for me, but the Cliftons and Rincons I needed to go half size smaller
ОтветитьI seem to be the same size as you Edd, so I just go with your sizing!! :)
ОтветитьGreat video! The Novablast were my latest oddity with sizing. Ordered the 40.5, too short, exchanged for the 41,5, too long! I just don't understand Asics method for their sizing. It's always tricky to order online Asics shoes. On the other hand, it's easy to order Saucony (always 40.5), Nike (41), Brooks (41) and NB (41). Recently ordered the Mach 4, my first Hokas and I was kind of concerned about sizing, but 41 did just great. Only Asics are a lottery! 😄😄
ОтветитьThe best fitting shoe for me has been the Boston 9. And whilst there's wear on the Achilles area of the heel counter and both my big toes are beginning to make an appearance after 400km, I still enjoy running in them. No wish to ever throw them away, so they'll also have their place in the garden shed on retirement - perhaps a new PB is on the cards when mowing the lawn.
ОтветитьIm a uk 7.5 - 8. My SL20 size 8 has a lil bit of slippage in heel. Great vid mate!🏃🏽♂️👍🏽
Ответитьthanks Edd, very helpful!
ОтветитьWhat brands are good for wide feet? Love how the Novablast feels!
ОтветитьHey Eddbud! Been curious about Reeboks. Which reebok shoes do you highly recommend? I don't know which Reebok shoe to check out.
ОтветитьGreat topic Ed. So important now most shoes are bought on line. If you can it is always best to try them on.
ОтветитьThanks for the video. New Balance is the only brand that keeps me puzzled. Beacon V1 -> Size UK 11 fits perfect. Rebel V1 & Propel V1 -> Size UK 11 ... No way. The Rebel V2 in size 11 is quite snug, but it seems to work for me. Next pair will definitely be a UK 11,5. Maybe the difference is based on FuelCell and FreshFoam line of shoes ...
ОтветитьI feel Nike are getting wider at the moment. Which is good considering they no longer seem to offer 2E sizing in their custom “by you” options. Which is one thing I love about New Balance; they have various width options on nearly all their shoes.
ОтветитьI find shoe sizing really frustrating, high tech midsoles but they don't manage to get sizing right. The icing on the cake is that geordered the same model (yes I talk about you my beloved Peg 34) in a different colour and the sizing was different. And Adidas is horrible, although I love their shoes, I had trainers in US 12 being short and tight, and racers in US 11.5 feeling long.....but good for DHL (but not for the environment)
ОтветитьWith all the technology & technical advancements put into running shoes nowadays, how hard is it to just standardize sizing amongst all companies?
Every single one of us looks forward to unboxing, putting the shoe on for the first time & that much anticipated initial run.I guarantee I’m not the only one who will also think about what else to wear, socks, tights, shorts, jacket, hat, even gloves, that will exacerbate that feeling of wearing ‘new shoes’!!
But whenever I needed to return a shoe, there’s a part of me that gets turned off, the initial buzz is gone & the dreaded thought “will these fit properly?” instead takes its place!
Not only is it a pain to return a shoe, even with companies that have a fabulous return policy, it must cost the companies £$€ themselves!!
Apologies for the rant, just needed to get it off my chest!!
spot on Edd, I am same size as you. Saucony Speed 11, Asics Metaracer 11, yet Mach 4 is 12, with Nike in-between 11.5. lots to trial and error and returning stuff, should have added those trips to the post office on Strava
ОтветитьThis is useful, BUT, what would be more useful would be to actually see the shoes on your feet to get a sense of where your toes are. I've been going a half-size up on most shoes as general info online suggests (rather blanket-like) that that's the right thing to do. Seth is sizing half down in Next% where you're sizing up. We're told to have generally a thumb's width at the end of the longest toe, yet Alex Filiti's channel recently mentioned having only 0.5cm space (who has thumbs that tiny???) and Jonathan Windfeld's Insta recently posted his feet in the Next% with next to no space whatsoever in the toebox (visible thanks to his socks through the mesh). So for people like me who have literally just re-ordered the Next% a half-size down, a visual guide of where feet actually sit in the shoes would be far more beneficial than just your words and (admittedly lovely) face.
ОтветитьIn terms of figuring the correct size it was just a case of measuring the foot and then adding a cm to pick the corresponding shoe? That is what I had done and I still had issues with numb toes in the invincible. As you say the upper / different variations can matter. Thanks
ОтветитьNow , I'm stressing as I wait for my Rebel V2 in my normal size. ..LOL Any tips on thin socks?
ОтветитьBitteschön;)
ОтветитьThanks Edd, this is a video I will keep referring too....
ОтветитьI always look at the European size first then the USA size and ignore the uk size.
Adidas, New Balance, Hoka and Salomon under size UK sizes for some reason.
I’m very much the same size as you Edd in all brands except I wear a UK11 in Hoka. I’ve certainly not got narrow feet either, so not sure what’s going on there 🤷🏻♂️
ОтветитьI don't understand we put a man on the moon, but can't get consistency in shoe sizes, even the translation between US, EUR, and UK sizing is all over the place. Manufacturers could save a lot of money in returned shoes, by sitting together and come up with a good fitting system.
ОтветитьGreat content as always - I agree with your comments
