Not my kind of hobby. You know, im literally poor, so thats technical.

Should I do this with my Xbox 360? Will it speed it up? or expand lifespan. Or increase loading times. Or will it let me leave my Xbox on for a longer Because I leave it on for 24 hours to AFK. How hot does GDDR 3 Ram get? Does it even need a copper heat sink.

you could make the core heat even lower if u used liquid metal on it with a barrier thingy similar to what they did with the ps5

Reason why you think it’s high temp is cause this card has memory temp sensor in reality most cards memory run super hot u just can’t see it

How would I go about doing this to my ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card ? Links and advice would be great I plan to play long hours this would be great to avoid throttling or burn out!

LOL what a waste of your time and potentially worse performance overall. This is almost as stupid as "heat spreaders" on RAM cards. Notice the memory clock didn't change. What are you even trying to accomplish? 4 to 5 grams of TIM? LOL. No. You're using way too much and you're not supposed to smear it around. Good lord. At least you aren't using conductive paste. Memory wasn't your problem, and what you think you're solving is causing the opposite problem in many cases. You also don't use the same thickness shim as the pad. Pads account for compression. With incompressible shims (which are almost certainly not flat enough as well), you'll at least be losing clamping pressure on the die. And who said it was throttling due to memory chip temps? People, just don't do this. Source: Computer hardware engineer and professional for a very long time.

I think it is purposely designed to overheat. They want you to buy a new one in 1 year :)

There's 0 chance the designers/engineers of the GPU didn't know about it or couldn't fix what you can...

I have a question - if the movement of the copper shims is so concerning, why was thermal adhesive not used to fix them to the cooler? It does the same as thermal paste, but has a glue component added.

I changed the pads on a 3080 and 3090, for mining also. Both were hitting close to 120 on the mems and after, they were hovering around 82. I did get expensive high conductive thermal pads though and on the 3090, which was water cooled to begin with, I also installed two ram water blocks on the backplate with some thermal double adhesive thermal pad.

I have been copper/shim modding gpus since my GTX 760, best result I ever had was on a ASUS STRIX R9 390x, a huge 3 fan card that was crazy hot out of box, after copper shim mod and thermal paste it never went past mid 70c under load. Honestly surprised no one had/has tried this til recently?

Planned Obsolescence is when corporations sabotage their products so they will fail after the manufacturer warranty has expired. Causing the customer to have no other choice but to buy a new one or pay the manufacturer to repair the product.

Since the memory chips are way higher than the components there is no risk of creating a short.
If you're using conductive paste like Artic Silver or liquid metal, nail polish is a great way to protect the surrounding components.
I made a water block for my 2060 KO and extended my Artic 240, some alu fins on the memory with the standard fans.
GPU temp under load +/- 65C and mem temps 85C with +130 on core and +1300 on memory.

That actually seems pretty interesting I would only try this if I had a spare GPU card lying around. I believe that they do this on purpose to have your GPU heat up on purpose so it breaks so then you buy another one in the future. I had to modify for the hell of it my PS3 because I've add PlayStation for years and they too create this hot oven Style creation of a system why they are so tiny that it doesn't really solve the heat issue and within the system itself. I won't be buying any consoles anymore because of this problem.

But I didn't do some crazy stuff like this like copper I just modify the case because I come to find out that the fan is blowing in the way that it's supposed to go out the back but where it's facing is towards the case where it's kind of like taking a towel or a napkin or a rag and put it on your nose and mouth and expect you to breathe in the PlayStation restricts air flow and that's why in the same way as Xbox that's why you get those Rings of Death because they just created an oven.

A lot of times it's not an engineering flawed is actually just a way to get you to buy a new GPU card and they're very expensive I don't think the Nerds that created the GPU miss the overheating through trial and error I'm sure they were aware of it but the boss up top said make it get hot on purpose so they buy a new GPU in like less than 4 years with their intensive gaming. LOL 😂😂 They know what they were doing when they did this. 🤷‍♀️

memory chips should be getting IHS's at this point IMO. A tiny copper layer on top of the chip would allow for easy paste application for memory coolers rather than using pads
