you qalready have walls why reseach more? the packed walls are more for defense and the others are a bit better for rooms and such.
fish traps slowly and randomly catch fix over time without anyting. giving them fishign bait speeds it up and increases chance.
also due to updates you may need to check settings on stocpiles as they may not take in new stuff
