One of your gf’s. I see you bro 👌🏽
ОтветитьI have, over time, learned the hard way. And that is that wifi can be extremely unstable when more devices are added in. Even mesh systems have their limitations. That being said, zigbee and zwave protocols have been a good workaround for me. Between nest cameras and WiFi based smart lights, several HomePods, my
Wifi just struggled daily-out of the gate.
LSS, once I first, dumped several nest cams, AND switched to Philips hue for my many lighting needs, my WiFi returned to “normal” without having to restart daily. To be clear, a combination of both changes finally did the trick (I eliminated 4 cams, and about 45 smart wifi lights-by migrating over to the zigbee protocol ).
Believe it when I tell you that too many smart lights depending on your wifi makes a huge difference. However if you just have a few smart bulbs, you should be fine with WiFi based bulbs. It wouldn’t be worth the extra cost to use the Hue system IMO. Anyone who has invested in the Hue ecosystem knows that each purchase can take a serious bite out of your A$$.
I want the TV light but you need the hub....I dont want to pay $400 to have light behind my tv.
ОтветитьJimmy you look like u should eat the world instead
ОтветитьI started with Hue … was ok but just ok. Bridge was a hassle when it went kaput! LIFX is nicer light but completely unacceptable connection issues continually. Yes I wifi savvy and tried everything…. Honestly GOVEE has been the best…. We will see over time but so far … perfect
ОтветитьI have a Philips Hue from Home Depot that was $22.97 that uses WiZ Connected but that app sucks.
ОтветитьYou can dim and turn off the lights from the apps
ОтветитьGreat video! Clear and to the point
ОтветитьThanks for the sharing! I am currently at the crossroad of picking either Philips or Lifx and your information helped a lot in the decision!
Just wonder if any of those can work with a light sensor? e.g. lights will be on when it's dim inside home.
Lifx wifi led are full of shit the internet never works and one of the pins fell off so cheap I'm buying from another company
ОтветитьI am a long-time passionate user of colors lights. The set up is the SAME. You have to set up BOTH in your app. IN BOTH you have to give it a name and assign it a group if you want(IN BOTH). Yes, the Hue requires you to set up each bulb individually just like the Lifx--in the app.
Blue tooth is much more difficult and finicky to set up. My LifX lights instantly were found instantly in the app. The Blue tooth Hue coupling has always been hit and miss. And and the hub is an extra piece of unnecessary hardware that can break. When one hub breaks, they all become 10 dim white individual LED lights-no app for any bulb. 2 of my hue hubs have broken-so far. If a LifX bulb breaks, the rest still work fine on the app. No problems with the LifX yet.
I like Lifx bulbs for most of the general space. i use Hue for stuff such as closets and whatnot and have an ikea tradfri hub to connect the hue bulbs too, i use smart curtains from ikea hence the trådfri. Then for switches for everything i use flic buttons . Soo yeah the whole system is a mix and match, and my flic buttons are what ties everything together, because they currently support tradfri nanoleaf, lifx and hue
ОтветитьMy Hue just works. And if there are any router or wifi changes I just have to set up the hub.
I bought some LIFX A19+ because they have IR output when the visible light is off. When there is a network change you have to go to every stinking bulb and turn it off and on five times to start setup over. This is a big issue if you have many bulbs. I find that many times things with hubs work more reliably than things that connect individually. Also I had a bulb get bricked by a software update. Because I can not find the receipt., LIFX will not help.
For my money, go with Hue and avoid LIFX.
Great review. Thanks mate.
ОтветитьWhat's the turn on speed of Phillips?
ОтветитьSlave labour lol
ОтветитьI have a LIFX light now in one room. Considering a second light now for my study. Lifx seems to have a delay to turn on and no physical remote and the app update about a year ago totally changed the UI to be worse IMO. It also takes a minute or so to connect to Google Home when you flick the switch on.
ОтветитьGreat review. Straight to the point 🙌🏼
ОтветитьYou no longer need the hub for hue bulbs.
ОтветитьGreat job.
ОтветитьGood video! Gonna check out your others but as of now new subscriber here!
ОтветитьExcellent - Which ones have better integration with SmartThings?
ОтветитьGreat video👍🏻
ОтветитьLIFX here
ОтветитьI've once had installed at my house TP-Link, Lenovo, Belkin Wemo, Hue but they just didn't feel user friendly until I got Lifx, I did have to install another WAP so I got a Cisco POE ceiling-mounted device and it was perfect. Lifx just works so well and its super-fast, I got maybe 12 colour globes and 12 standard white ones. The light switches aren't any good in my house since I don't have a neutral wire.
ОтветитьWithin 30 seconds I was like "I love this dude." 1) The Summary has information that provides for a quick skim and overview of what to expect in the video, so I can gauge quickly if this will answer my question, be time well spent, or to move on, etc.... 2)Then I'm like "dude's communication is on-point!. Clear and concise (thank god!) and emphatic/expressive to engage me and suck me in to notice "this dude must practice! He seems like he takes his viewers and his content seriously! Much respect!!.. 3) When he said "Time-stamps..." (let's get to the nitty gritty)– Instant Like. Instant subscribe. This dude rules.
ОтветитьHue is a good investment if you want a simple whole-home solution. Buy over time & it is worth it.
ОтветитьI'm very satisfied with my Hue system, because i also have a philips Ambilight tv. If you have the money to choose between a BMW or a Volkswagen. My choice is easy 😉
Ответитьyou forgot to compare the most important thing - how they look in the end. For example their color saturation and their brightness. no point if it has x number of features but the lights are so dim they are unusable
ОтветитьThe price of the Hue hub is very justifiable if you compare it to LIFX. The annoying connection, setup, and HomeKit issues with LIFX are so annoying to the point where I can justify the price of Hue.
ОтветитьOh man, I wanted to like Lifex. I truly did. We’ve been a Hue home for years but I really like the look of the LifeX app, and the bulbs themselves actually.
The faffery installing one bulb to the lovely looking app was the stuff of nightmares. I am not an tech idiot. I installed my own Nest thermostat, camera and Ring. I have set up 34 Hue bulbs/strips for every single occasion - but one LifeX bulb was almost the undoing of me.
I’m going to give it one more to and add another to the line but if that goes poorly I’ll just be sticking with the boring looking Hue.
I think lifx clean comes out in dec so lifx kills germs too
ОтветитьOnly thing Hue beats everyone for is having remotes that can look like a light switch and buttons. I wish more brands copied this
Ответитьik you probably will not see this but I have a life bulb in my fan and I really want to switch to hue. causes they have a motion sensor and other accessories do you think I should do it? and should I keep my life bulb in my fan or buy a Phillips hue one
ОтветитьWhat about the entertainment area? Does Lifx has that?
ОтветитьCan you control LIFX remotely from across the globe via remote access through the cloud?
ОтветитьI had the lifx lightbulbs at first they worked just fine then they randomly disconnect from the wifi and even though I connect then again they will still disconnect and this didn't just happen to me it happened to many other people so i don't recommend them
ОтветитьSir
Did you put lights
In your closet
Smart...car...:P
ОтветитьLIFX wins this battle... warranty, price, no hub required and wifi integration along with proposed smart blinds/other appliances in the near future.
ОтветитьPhilips Hue is BS, I got mine when it first came out, now i cant control my lights with my phone or google home because the old Hub is not supported, i have to now spend $69.99 plus tax to buy the new hub and i am not clear if the lights would work or that is also not supported waste of money.
ОтветитьMAKE A SMART HOME PLAY LIST
ОтветитьLifx working great for my application which is just a few living room lights and two nightstand lamps for main use as "wake up" lights. Working great, easy set up and got them when they were on sale:). Well done informative video, got right to it:). Thanks for your time spent producing this vid!
ОтветитьThis is extremely incorrect. I've been a Lifx user for many years now. You can do routines, schedules. Lifx also has near all the options, and some Phillips doesn't have. And each bulb, can be put into groups as needed, making 1 switch do multiple, or all of them if you want that. Meanwhile, with the Hue, keep in mind, a few years from now, you'll need to buy an updated hub. Happened to a friend already. Lifx never needs updating at all, they just work. It's the app that gets more and more features for them to utilize.
ОтветитьDo LIFX products rely on an external server (hosted by the manufacturer) to operate and make adjustments or is it just communicating on your local network between the device and the app on your phone? What I'm trying to determine is whether or not I can control the devices if my internet service was disrupted (for whatever reason). Thanks in advance.
ОтветитьLifx lights are way more brighter than Phillips hue . Not to mention that fact that you can change the led strip to multiple colours and can make the colours move in the strip!!!
ОтветитьHue can also be integrated with razer synapse for awesome gaming setups
ОтветитьLIFX has connectivity issues be warned!!! Stay away and go with Philips
Ответить
