This is my car...Thank You AMD for taking the time to fully inspect and service (what was needed). Anybody in the Chicagoland area with a Toyota or Lexus should really get in touch with him for any of your car needs. I personally drove almost 800 miles to see him after following and learning from his many videos for a long time. He was excited as I was to make the video and do the inspection. He is really as honest and genuine as he is in his videos and it was nice to get his expert insight to the overall condition of my vehicle.
I am going to go through the MANY comments and try to answer as many questions as possible. Like mentioned in the video, I am a courier based in the mid-Atlantic US and am on the road quite a bit so it may take some time. One thing that should be noted is I drive closer to 2k miles a week on average not 4k. Just a small edit that was missed, not a big deal. I have driven 4k and more in a busy week but it is not the norm. I have almost always driven over 100k miles a year for the past 18+ years being in the business.
If anyone is interested, I post regularly on reddit under the same user name and update the car and my driving 'adventures'. Thank you again CarCareNut for your hospitality and it was truly a pleasure to meet you.
We need to know
Which oil was used exactly and how many miles it was changed at.
Also: transmission oil change(how often did he change it?).
Also: spark plugs were replaced or not? What mileage?
Please advise.
Has he lived in it thats crazy 🎉
ОтветитьSeems like a normal hybrid would suit the owner better than a prime.
ОтветитьToyota still makes good cars, as long as it's MADE IN JAPN by actual hard working, quite, prideful and humble assembly line workers, and not produce anywhere else like the U.S with it's loud mouth union workers talking, joking, arguing and constantly complaining about their work pay and health benefits while working on the production assembly lines.
ОтветитьTestament to jvin vs Toyota vehicles built elsewhere.
Ответитьkup sobie !
ОтветитьI own the same Prius Prime but a 2021. Do you think the brakes being original is because the Prime uses regenerative breaking a lot of the time? As in it's using the electric motor to break a good portion of the time? Just curious as I'm not a car guy myself. I absolutely love my Prime. I can go more than a month between gas tank fill ups as 90%+ of my driving is managed by the 25-29 miles of range we get on the battery. I don't think I'd ever own a straight hybrid or ICE vehicle as plug-in hybrids are the best of both worlds.
ОтветитьI was going to callout (without finishing the video) how all those rockchips probably mean this guy tailgates... Those brakes just proved me wrong. Got dang!
ОтветитьThe most dangerous thing about at 300K mile car is spending the amount of time on road to get there.
ОтветитьBasically he drove around the earth 14 times!
ОтветитьThis car must be made by the Germans !! 😂
ОтветитьHow is this possible lool
ОтветитьDefinitely doesnt have kids.
ОтветитьPanels look better at 341k of use versus a 0 mile Tesla 😂
ОтветитьSeeing this video is what made me buy my 2022 Prius Prime and I've been really happy with with and hope to get many miles and years out of mine.
ОтветитьThis is the car I want in the near future and I want this color
ОтветитьMADE IN JAPAN means something
ОтветитьIt feels like time is more cruel to vehicles than distance after all.
ОтветитьIs the hybrid battery still under warranty if u drive 341k miles, but only in 4 years?
ОтветитьHow is the automatic transmission on that car. Was it every changed?
ОтветитьI'm also a courier too with a 2022 Prius bought it new with 2 miles on it. I'm currently at 153k
ОтветитьThis is a testament to how little highway driving stresses a car’s systems. Brakes and suspension do not get much of a workout, even in 340,000 miles of driving.
ОтветитьIs there an ashtray on the center console of this Prius? if so, is this car smoked in?
ОтветитьHuh, the "Transporter", where is J. Stratum? Great review!
ОтветитьWhilst I am waiting for my company car to be delivered I had to have a hire car, the hire company dropped off a 2021 Prius business edition (I’m in the U.K). My first impression was WTF? I was not happy! It had 43000 miles on the clock and the brake pads were very low on inspection. That was 4 months ago and I’ve changed my opinion of this car, I’ve done 6000 miles in it so far and I love it! I recently arranged with the hire company to get the brake pads/disks checked and all disks and pads on all wheels needed changing which was done for new ones. At the current mileage I guess the car was not cared for and driven incorrectly since new. I could have changed it for something else but told the hire company I wanted to keep it. I take care of it and treat it like it was my own car. It’s not a car for everyone’s taste but I have definitely come round to appreciate it for what it is, very much underrated in my opinion. Unfortunately my company does not offer this as an option for a company car as I would have one! Just goes to show you how well these cars are built, especially if you look after them and maintain them well like the owner has with his car! Credit to the owner for taking such good care of his car.
ОтветитьI can believe the tire life, I've got 70k miles on my Kinergy GT's, likely will get to the 90k warranty tons of life left.
ОтветитьLooks like the bolts for the engine to trans need to be tightened there is a gap between the engine and trans.
ОтветитьMy Japanese best friend is always bragging about the Prius Aqua aka Prius-C at one time the top selling Prius in Japan. blah blah blah . Best selling in Japan , Top 3 cars made in Japan , Toyota's greatest gift to the Japanese . The first car you can choose from on the Video Game ,Gran Turismo 7. In the US has a NHST 5 star safety rating . Consumer Reports in 2012
awarded the Prius-C the most reliable car in the US.
He brags about having equivalent of 200K miles on the car and how it calculates 100K+yen (Thousands of US dollars) saved in gas. He brags about how his Ncmh batterey is still at 80 percent fresh . He brags about how the brakes still haven't been changed ! (electric motor braking)
He brags about his comparative millage of 55+
mpg out of city or in city driving (using pulse driving technique and regenerative braking) .
He brags about his range of 650+KM (400+ miles ) on $35 US dollars of gas .
The low maintenance cost of just
oil changes and tires . How cool it runs in the summer. How the Aqua can seat 4 and has
room in the back for groceries.
He also finds it sad that Toyota can make a car like the Aqua focused for the Japanese smart consumer segment but sadly is forced to make cars that are for the idiot consumer segment , especially the US (Japan is economically export dependent) .
Too many to list but when you start to see idiots in the US in Toyota Tundras (one idiot ) driving a round with fancy rims and nothing in the back or so many Hybrid versions of big heavy over roomy cars with more HP but pathetic MPG numbers. It makes you realize how pathetic car and gas addiction is globally.
And you then realize the positive is Japan takes the profit from their global idiot car segments sales , and reinvest it into its own people. In the form of sustainable electric powered High speed trains and rail and public transporration.
These trains that can put a Tesla ,Bugatti or Lamborghini to shame in terms of
speed and travel.
IMHO the new 2023 Prius Prime Plugin is now the Prius to get and has officially top the Prius-C.
Absolute endurance champion!🔥 fk the 24HrsLemans how about the 3 years Lemans!😅
ОтветитьThat car is like one from Montreal with 17,000 miles.
Ответить320 miles per days everyday for the past 3 years
ОтветитьBeing on the market for a used 4th gen Prius, this fills me with confidence (on top of the confidence I have from owning a hybrid Toyota Auris that's based on a 3rd gen Prius.)
ОтветитьCurious about oil change intervals?
ОтветитьI lve my Prius.. I never thought I'd say that in my life but, they are fantastic economy cars. Idk if I'll ever be able to own a high maintenance vehicle again, unless it's a weekend toy or something.
ОтветитьThis prius somebody has already hit 600,000 miles. of 1 million kms
ОтветитьYeah, well if you drive in a cold area, your car will be rusted after 10 years. But this is incredible i agree. But mostly it is time, that kills a car. The battery, rust and so on die with time not particularly usage.
ОтветитьUpdate on miles?
ОтветитьBeautiful vehicle
Ответитьplease review the new awd prius. whats your thoughts still reliable?
ОтветитьSo the prius prime has 341000, so....does the owner/driver also have 341000 miles in 3 yrs? How is the drivers suspension, brakes, chasis figuratively speaking 😬
ОтветитьThis video gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. Just bought a new Prius (Mk4, same model but no plug-in) and I love it! And I'm taking good care as well, not doing THAT many miles/year though. :) I believe this could have been the last car I ever needed to buy. And I'm not that old. :)
ОтветитьHow come you didn't check the AC Accumulator or remove the small pan in front of the front passenger fender to check for Accumulator leaks?
ОтветитьHi. I have exactly the same model. I have seen your videos and learned how to clean the hybrid battery fan filters from the 2 sides at the back. On my car there are also 2 other grills on the bottom of the seats (one is central and one is on the right side, on the left seat there is instead a door to grab a small jack for tyre replacement). I opened those plastics but those grills have no filters on it. Is it normal? Probably the Prime works differently and thats why? I got the filters on the 2 sides but none in the low ones! Thanks!
ОтветитьWow looks great for 341k. I had a 2006 Prius with 215k miles and it was the most reliable car I ever owned. I did almost all the maintenance myself and it still drove great. Battery was in great shape too. I did have to change the front brake pads around 210k.
ОтветитьThoroughly impressed with milage and original brakes! I have the 2017 in gray bought used in 2019. I only do 25-30k a year and just had to change read disks and pads…..you're a better (and probably more patient) driver than I am. I never clean it in the outside, and it's parked outside 24/7 summer and winter. Props to you, Mr!
ОтветитьEven though they are highway miles, it's still impressive. Especially how well the exterior and paint looks. Two thumbs up.
