Hurts some when it happens, the real pain comes after the surgery to reattach. If you put your arms out and turn you palm of your hand to the sky it will make the toughest man cry, the pain is freaking unreal.

It appeared to be a partial tear, because the biceps muscle didn't roll up the upper arm like a window shade. Tears like this usually are caused by PED use, where the muscle grows faster and is stronger than the ligament that holds it to the bone. This is a common injury suffered by deadlifters. If one wants to avoid this nasty injury, DON'T USE PED's AND TRAIN YOUR DEADLIFT ONLY ONE SESSION EVERY 10-14 DAYS. Deadlifting particularly takes patience and disciplined commitment to task.

I think it was the change of grip: just enough pressure on the bicep to tear the tendon off the bone. 😮

I had a tear in my forearm lifting 40kg bag the wrong way and it popped and the girl who worked at the store turned around and screamed "oh my god are you okay?" and I said yeah and put the bag in the cart.
